About The Position

Lead the vision and execution of AI-powered analytics and data science capabilities for US Medical Affairs. Own the entire data portfolio and pioneer next-generation analytics in patient journey mapping, advanced segmentation, and stakeholder evaluation. Scout and integrate external innovations; build proprietary AI/ML solutions in-house. Establish foundational data architecture, governance, and AI/automation frameworks that scale. Engage senior leadership on data strategy; translate technical capability into competitive advantage.

Requirements

  • Candidate demonstrates a breadth of diverse leadership experiences and capabilities including: the ability to influence and collaborate with peers, develop and coach others, oversee and guide the work of other colleagues to achieve meaningful outcomes and create business impact.
  • Bachelors + 12+ years’ experience; MBA + 10+; PharmD/PHD + 7+
  • Strong experience (10+ years) in data & analytics, including with recent medical affairs experience.
  • Demonstrated effectiveness working in cross-functional business environment.
  • Proven leadership skills in managing people and projects both directly and via a matrixed or indirect leadership.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to quickly build rapport and credibility with Pfizer leaders and key external stakeholders.
  • Ability to partner cross culturally/regionally.
  • Effective talent management.
  • Effective English verbal and written communication with flexibility to be clear, consistent, compliant, and appropriate for a variety of settings including scientific/technical, promotional, patient/consumer, regulatory, and media.
  • In depth understanding of the business of pharmaceutical medicine including clinical trial design, GCP and data interpretation, drug development, regulatory and promotional rules/guidance, legal and compliance, issue management and business development opportunity evaluations.
  • Anticipates Future Data and Analytics Needs – Knows the healthcare and AI landscape; deeply knowledgeable in emerging trends in AI/ML, patient analytics, segmentation science, and data platforms. Responsibilities

  • Define an ambitious innovation vision for Medical Affairs data and analytics. Communicate strategy effectively to senior and executive leadership, framing data/AI investments in terms of business impact and competitive advantage
  • Partner with external innovation leaders, AI/ML research institutions, technology vendors, and thought leaders to identify and evaluate emerging capabilities in AI, patient analytics platforms, and data science approaches
  • Work with senior leadership and Medical Affairs stakeholders to define strategic priorities for AI and data investment; guide capability roadmap and resource allocation decisions
  • Actively scout emerging trends in AI, patient journey science, segmentation methodologies, HCP network analysis, and healthcare data platforms; evaluate which innovations to adopt, adapt, or build in-house
  • Architect and lead the development of patient journey analytics, advanced segmentation models, and stakeholder evaluation systems that enable Medical Affairs to understand and engage patients and HCPs at scale
  • Lead development team and manage delivery of analytics
  • Translate strategic Medical Affairs needs into a data science and AI/ML roadmap; prioritize innovation initiatives that build proprietary capability and drive business impact
  • Present analytics capabilities, innovation progress, and strategic recommendations to senior and executive leadership; translate technical AI/data science concepts into business outcomes and competitive advantages
  • Champion enterprise-grade data governance, security, and ethics standards; ensure frameworks enable rapid innovation deployment while maintaining compliance and data quality
