About The Position

At the Y in Central Maryland, Group Fitness is more than what happens inside a studio. It’s where members find connection, confidence, motivation, and sometimes the reason they keep coming back. We’re looking for a Senior Director, Group Fitness to lead the future of Group Fitness and our Fit Coach experience across our Family Centers. This is an association-wide leadership role for someone who understands that great fitness experiences require both great people and great business strategy. You’ll shape programming, strengthen the member experience, develop instructors and Fit Coaches, use participation and performance data to make smart decisions, and create new opportunities for members to engage with the Y. You’ll also help us grow. From specialty fitness programs and workshops to new fee-based experiences, you’ll identify opportunities to build sustainable revenue while creating programs our members genuinely want to be part of. You’ll thrive in this role if you know how to bring energy to a room, build strong teams, spot trends before everyone else does, and turn ideas into experiences that work across multiple locations. If you believe fitness can create belonging, build community, and change the way people experience the Y, we want to meet you. Bring the energy. Grow the experience. Help more people find their place at the Y. All Y associates agree to abide by The Code of Conduct with Youth that sets clear expectations for associates and volunteers to ensure a safe and respectful environment for young people. It emphasizes treating youth with respect and fairness, avoiding inappropriate physical or verbal interactions, and adhering to established standards of affection. The policy strictly prohibits any form of abuse, bullying, or harassment and mandates the reporting of suspected mistreatment. Additionally, associates and volunteers must complete training on child abuse prevention and comply with legal reporting requirements to safeguard youth.
