About The Position

As the Senior Director, Global Accounting, you will lead the Global Accounting & Close (GAC) organization, ensuring compliance with corporate accounting policies, internal controls, and statutory reporting requirements across global legal entities. You will be a strategic partner to the Assistant Corporate Controller, aligning global accounting operations with statutory reporting, U.S. GAAP financial reporting, and technical accounting requirements. You will report to the Chief Accounting Officer and work remote. This is a 100% remote role.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
  • 15+ years of progressive leadership experience in accounting, controllership, financial reporting, or related finance responsibilities.
  • Experience leading large-scale accounting transformation, reporting modernization, or process improvement projects.
  • Experience within a multinational, publicly traded, or matrixed organization.
  • Experience with enterprise ERP platforms such as SAP, Oracle, Workday, or similar systems.
  • Experience leading large, globally dispersed teams and complex accounting operations.

Nice To Haves

  • CPA or equivalent professional accounting certification.
  • Experience in Shared Services, Global Business Services, or Finance Transformation organizations.
  • Lean Six Sigma, process excellence, or other transformation-related certifications.

Responsibilities

  • Lead global monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes, ensuring compliance with accounting policies and internal controls.
  • Lead improvement projects that enhance close efficiency, transparency, scalability, and control effectiveness.
  • Oversee global accounting teams responsible for statutory financial reporting across multiple jurisdictions.
  • Ensure compliance with local accounting regulations, statutory filing requirements, and corporate accounting policies.
  • Establish global accounting standards, governance frameworks, and operating practices that promote consistency and accuracy.
  • Manage relationships with external auditors, regulators, and professional advisors.
  • Assess the impact of new accounting standards, regulations, and business developments.
  • Oversee accounting, reporting, compliance, and governance activities related to special purpose vehicles (SPVs), joint ventures, and complex legal entity structures.
  • Partner with the Assistant Corporate Controller to align statutory reporting, consolidated financial reporting, technical accounting positions, and enterprise accounting policies.
  • Direct the preparation, review, and submission of local statutory financial statements and regulatory filings.
  • Develop a multi-year accounting transformation roadmap focused on operational excellence and scalability.
  • Lead the implementation of AI, automation, and digital solutions that improve efficiency, reduce manual processes, and increase reporting accuracy.
  • Standardize processes and governance across accounting operations while eliminating inefficiencies.
  • Implement advanced reporting, analytics, and dashboard capabilities that improve financial insights.
  • Champion data quality projects and strengthen reporting controls to enhance the reliability of financial information.
  • Build business cases and ROI analyses supporting investments in technology, automation, and process improvement.
  • Improve the consistency, transparency, and quality of accounting and financial reporting through process and technology modernization.
  • Deliver meaningful variance analysis and financial insights that support executive decision-making and external reporting requirements.
  • Partner with Financial Reporting and Technical Accounting leadership to ensure consistency in disclosures and financial narratives.
  • Be the trusted advisor to Finance leadership on accounting operations, transformation projects, and reporting strategy.
  • Influence enterprise-wide decisions related to finance technology, operating models, and process optimization.
  • Lead a global organization through subordinate managers.
  • Build organizational capability through talent development, succession planning, and leadership coaching.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
  • Lead change management efforts associated with new technologies, operating models, and process transformations.
  • Oversee global accounting budgets, resource planning, and organizational investments.
  • Align operating expenditures with priorities and transformation goals.
  • Improve resource allocation while balancing operational excellence and long-term growth projects.
