About The Position

Perennials and Sutherland, LLC is a highly respected luxury home furnishings company with a rich history. The Senior Director of Finance and Analysis will report to the CFO and be responsible for leading and coordinating the company's financial planning, analysis, and reporting, as well as treasury functions. This role ensures adherence to generally accepted accounting principles and partners with the peer management team to enhance company profitability and cash flow by identifying opportunities for revenue and margin growth, cost reductions, and operational efficiencies.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in accounting required
  • 10+ years of experience
  • Manufacturing experience required (strong inventory and costing background preferred)
  • Strong excel and modeling skills
  • Data management experience

Responsibilities

  • Mentor and lead the finance team (2 direct reports) in controllership, inventory management, costing, financial planning & analysis, and oversight of international finance controllers.
  • Identify, maintain, and track KPIs, updating dashboards and reporting tools for data-driven decision-making by leaders and senior management.
  • Partner with operations to evaluate costs, productivity, and inventory, developing effective cost reporting and variance analyses.
  • Assist other functions in reducing report generation time and increasing analysis time through the use of AI and other tools.
  • Manage and assist with ad hoc projects such as margin analysis, inventory management/costing, and SG&A spend analysis.
  • Review capital investment proposals based on business cases, challenge business owners, and provide oversight of capital budgets and analysis.
  • Proactively identify opportunities for improvements and cost reductions within the company.
  • Manage the implementation of financial process improvements and information systems to ensure reliable and timely financial information.
  • Lead the annual budget and financial planning process, ensuring partnership between the finance team and functional business leaders.
  • Support monthly closing processes and summarize financial results and expectations for senior management, including ownership of monthly and quarterly compliance reporting.
  • Act as lead for domestic and international audits and tax filing requirements.
