About The Position

This strategic leadership role is responsible for driving data-driven decision-making across Sutter Health. The position will collaborate with cross-functional teams, senior executives, and business stakeholders to provide actionable insights, guide analytics initiatives, and enhance overall business performance. They are accountable for facilitating and overseeing the creation, adoption, education, and engagement of strategic analytic products. They are responsible for providing actionable information to business partners, including senior leadership, market leadership, service line leadership, and all business partners. The role leads and continues to evolve and maintain data & analytics capabilities within the Epic EHR (Cogito: Reporting Workbench, Radar, SlicerDicer) to better support data presentation, analytics & insights, and clinical & business operations. It provides strategic oversight of business intelligence and analytics capabilities, identifies and implements emerging new ways of executing on data & analytics, and collaborates with Sutter Health and its regional affiliates' executives to plan, align, budget, design, and implement data technologies in support of Sutter Health's mission, goals, strategies, and objectives.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Science, Statistics, Engineering, Business Administration, Healthcare Management, Finance, Analytics, or similar field of study (Equivalent experience will be accepted in lieu of the required degree or diploma).
7 years’ experience in information management developing and implementing modern data governance programs for complex cross functional organizations, data quality initiatives, training and support for analytics and responsible use, and/or metadata management initiatives.
6 years of experience building data driven information technology systems.
5 years of progressive experience leading the implementation of data governance programs to support the business and strategic analytic needs of large enterprises.
5 years management experience including a demonstrated ability to effectively lead and mentor diverse teams.
7 years of experience in healthcare management to develop and implement business solutions for complex, cross-functional organizations.
10 plus years of experience to build and guide analytics capabilities for healthcare and/or other industries.
5 plus years of demonstrated strong presentation abilities, leading with confidence in challenging discussions.
10 years of progressive experience to drive successful adoption of analytics solutions.
8 years of management experience to effectively lead, develop, and mentor diverse teams.
Knowledge of change management concepts and strategies including constructively transforming service lines to align with strategic business objectives.
Knowledge of healthcare trends, competitive intelligence, data analytics, and emerging technologies with the ability to integrate this knowledge into actionable strategic and long-range plans.
Knowledge of healthcare-related data management and dependencies.
Verbal and writing skills to effectively communicate with diverse groups such as: executives, managers, and subject matter experts.
Demonstrated ability to build and lead teams committed to carrying out initiatives in environments that may be resistant to change.
Make presentations to persuade others to accept a specific opinion or action, or to provide information and instruction.
Expertise in developing processes and operations to implement and manage data governance principles and policies, master data management, business and technology issues related to management of enterprise information assets, and approaches related to data protection.
Technical expertise in design and development of analytics marketplace, analytic product development, integration of data governance platform with enterprise data platform and BI platforms.
Experience with metadata management, master data management processes and technology, data catalogue systems and tools.
Comfort level with ambiguity and ability to manage multiple projects at the same time; confidence to dive into data, understand it inside out and how it connects to our clinical and operational stakeholders.
