About The Position

AMD is at the center of a defining technology shift, establishing itself as an AI-defining semiconductor company. This role is crucial for shaping how AMD's story is told to the world, particularly as demand for high-performance and AI computing reshapes the industry. The team is organized into four core functions: corporate and financial news, company and leadership narrative, proactive media and influence, and policy, issues, and crisis. This position is for an experienced leader who has operated in high-stakes situations at a scaled technology company, earned the trust of senior executives, possesses deep media relationships, and can lead a high-performing team.

Requirements

  • Progressive years of corporate communications experience, with significant time at a scaled technology company (semiconductors, enterprise, or platform technology strongly preferred).
  • Proven track record navigating high-stakes moments, earnings, M&A, major product and platform launches, executive platform-building, and crises.
  • Deep experience as a trusted advisor to CEOs and senior executives, including message development, executive positioning, and high-pressure preparation.
  • Strong, active relationships with tier-one business, technology, and financial media, and the credibility to open doors and shape coverage.
  • Track record of building and leading high-performing teams; someone who sets a high bar, develops talent, and gets exceptional work out of the people around them.
  • Outstanding writer and editor with sharp news judgment and calm, sound decision-making under pressure and ambiguity.
  • Comfort engaging with technical subject matter.
  • Fluency in AI, data center, or semiconductor topics is a significant plus.

Responsibilities

  • Set the strategy, standard, and pace across four core functions: corporate and financial news, company and leadership narrative, proactive media and influence, and policy, government, and crisis.
  • Lead the team responsible for corporate and financial news, including partnering with Investor Relations on earnings and investor moments, driving company news and major announcements, leading communications for M&A and corporate development, supporting communications for ventures and strategic investments, and overseeing corporate social responsibility communications.
  • Lead the company and leadership narrative function, creating, organizing, maintaining, and distributing AMD's corporate narrative across audiences and channels, and developing and managing executive communications for key business and technical leaders.
  • Lead proactive media and influence efforts, nurturing relationships with top-tier media and influencers, driving proactive story ideation, shaping the narrative agenda, and leading media pitching for narrative-defining placements.
  • Lead reputation management, issues management, and crisis communications, and support government relations and policy communications.
