Senior Director, Cloud Engineering
About The Position
Crusoe is looking for a Senior Director, Engineering to lead the team behind Crusoe's customer-facing cloud platform. This role is responsible for the software layer that customers rely on daily, including the developer portal, identity management, billing, registries, metrics, and managed logging. The position involves leading a Product Engineering organization of over 60 individuals through senior managers and engineering leads. Key responsibilities include setting technical direction, driving the roadmap, and maintaining high standards for reliability, security, and on-call performance. This role requires close interaction with customers and a deep understanding of the technical core, with involvement in critical platform decisions and customer escalations. The Senior Director will report to the Vice President of Engineering.
Requirements
- 12+ years in software engineering
- 5+ years leading 40-100+ engineer orgs
- Experience leading Directors and senior Engineering Managers
- Experience owning a cloud platform customers pay for (IaaS, PaaS, or managed services)
- Familiarity with AI tooling and the ecosystem
- Experience with distributed systems and cloud infrastructure
- Experience keeping teams moving through ambiguity in growth-stage settings without letting quality or on-call discipline slip
- Ability to create structure for the team when the playbook is thin
- Direct, low-ego leadership style
Nice To Haves
- Time inside AWS, GCP, Azure, CoreWeave, Lambda Labs, or a similar cloud provider
- AI/ML platform work at scale
- Past experience scaling an engineering org through rapid growth

Responsibilities
- Lead a 60+ person Product Engineering org through senior managers and engineering leads.
- Drive the roadmap for Crusoe's customer-facing cloud platform and managed services.
- Set direction for developer portal, identity, billing, interfaces, registries, metrics, and managed logging.
- Ship the roadmap with Product and Infrastructure while raising quality, reliability, security, and on-call rigor.
- Step into major customer escalations and key product decisions when stakes are high.
- Turn customer needs into platform capabilities with Sales and Solutions Engineering.
- Build shared technical foundations with Crusoe's broader infrastructure and AI platform teams.
