About The Position

The Senior Director, Clinical Programs - Maternal Health is responsible for leading the strategic vision, design and execution of Progyny’s Maternal health and related clinical Programs. This role sits at the intersection of evidence-based design, clinical outcomes, product innovation, and strategic business decisions that optimize member experience while supporting company growth. This leader will work with stakeholders to drive excellence and maintain regulatory compliance in the execution of the program.

Requirements

  • Clinician (Midwife, RN, PA, or LCSW) or researcher (PhD or MPH) with experience designing, implementing, and evaluating evidence-based maternal health programs.
  • 10+ years of experience in Clinical Program Management, with expertise across the full program lifecycle.
  • Strategic, human-centered leader with strong clinical acumen and a commitment to evidence-based care.
  • Demonstrated ability to navigate ambiguity, solve complex problems, and drive innovation.
  • Data-driven decision-maker with strong analytical skills.
  • Excellent executive communication, stakeholder management, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
  • Proven ability to prioritize and manage multiple competing initiatives.
  • Candidates must be based in the United States.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the strategic vision, roadmap, and implementation of the Maternity Program, including program design, clinical requirements documentation, new program elements, cross-program integration and scaling of existing offerings.
  • Proactively monitor program and identify/research improvement & growth opportunities to implement in collaboration within and beyond the Product department.
  • Build deep understanding of members, clients, and partners to inform program innovation and growth.
  • Collaborate with Marketing and Sales to support product positioning, go-to-market strategies, and craft client and member value story.
  • Participate in shaping overall longer-term program strategy, as a part of Product leadership.
  • Translate clinical program needs into briefs, Clinical and Business Requirement Documents (BRDs) and partner with other product sub-teams.
  • Design Programs or Improvements and ensure seamless operationalization and launch readiness of new programs and enhancements to existing ones.
  • Align across product portfolios to ensure a high-quality member, provider, client, and partner experience.
  • Partner across departments to manage member and client escalations.
  • Ensure all clinical programs meet regulatory requirements, clinical quality standards, and compliance guidelines, partnering with Legal and Compliance teams.
  • Lead development and performance of clinical KPIs and Performance Guarantees, ensuring outcomes are measurable and achievable.
  • Incorporate clinical best practices and up to date evidence-based, lived-experience informed protocols into program design and operational workflows.
  • Secure and manage external clinical expertise and partnerships to support program development.
  • Champion a data-informed approach to program management, leveraging analytics and BI to monitor performance and drive continuous improvement.
  • Define, track, and optimize key performance indicators related to clinical outcomes, operational efficiency, and member experience.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop a team of product and/or program managers.
  • Foster a high-performing, collaborative team environment focused on innovation and accountability.
  • Influence and align stakeholders across all levels of the organization.
