The Role In collaboration with SMG administration, Swedish Neuroscience Institute medical directors, physician leaders, and enterprise partners, the Senior Director Clinic Operations provides strategic and operational leadership for the ambulatory functions of the institute and related care continuum partnerships. This role is responsible for translating institute and organizational strategy into executable operational plans that advance quality, access, growth, patient experience, workforce engagement, and financial performance across SNI programs and sites. The Senior Director has direct accountability for outpatient clinic operations and indirect influence across the broader neuroscience continuum, including coordination with inpatient, procedural, diagnostic, rehabilitation, and support services. The role leads through senior managers, clinic managers, and other operational leaders to ensure consistent standards, strong local execution, and alignment across multiple clinics, providers, and subspecialty programs. A critical expectation of this position is the development of clinic leadership infrastructure, including clear role expectations for managers, operational governance, communication cadence, performance accountability, and escalation pathways that support reliable day-to-day clinic performance and long-term strategic growth. This leader serves as a key integrator between physicians, clinic operations, nursing, and enterprise support functions. The Senior Director is expected to foster timely, bidirectional communication across departments; reduce fragmentation between sites and services; and ensure clinic managers are equipped to communicate priorities, escalate risks, and implement change effectively. The role is accountable for building a high-performing management structure that supports caregiver engagement, standardization where appropriate, responsiveness to local clinic needs, and coordinated decision-making across the institute. The Senior Director contributes to effective and efficient operations in support of high-quality, cost-effective patient care and is responsible for implementing organizational philosophy, goals, and policies in a manner consistent with Swedish's mission and values. This position requires advanced leadership judgment, strong financial and operational acumen, and the ability to drive multidisciplinary collaboration while ensuring compliance with applicable federal, state, accreditation, and organizational standards.
