About The Position

This role is part of Blue Origin corporate functions, providing centralized support across Blue Origin business unit teams, functions, and locations. The Senior Director of Business Intelligence & Strategy is a strategic leader responsible for transforming data into actionable insights, driving enterprise decision-making, and advancing organizational performance through analytics, operational excellence, and strategic planning. This role partners closely with executive leadership to develop data-driven strategies, optimize business processes, establish performance metrics, and foster a culture of continuous improvement. The ideal candidate is an experienced leader who combines business acumen with technical expertise to deliver measurable business outcomes while building scalable reporting, analytics, and governance capabilities.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Data Analytics, Information Systems, Finance, Economics, Statistics, or a related field.
  • 10+ years of progressive leadership experience in business intelligence, analytics, strategy, consulting, or operational excellence.
  • 5+ years leading high-performing teams.
  • Demonstrated experience developing enterprise BI solutions, executive dashboards, and performance reporting.
  • Strong understanding of strategic planning, financial analysis, and business operations.
  • Experience leading cross-functional initiatives and organizational transformation.
  • Excellent executive communication and presentation skills.
  • Business Intelligence platforms (Power BI, Tableau, Looker, Qlik)
  • SQL and relational databases
  • Data warehousing and data modeling concepts
  • Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Power Platform
  • ERP and CRM systems
  • Strategic planning and KPI development

Responsibilities

  • Partner with executive leadership to develop and execute enterprise and departmental strategic initiatives.
  • Translate organizational goals into measurable objectives, KPIs, and performance dashboards.
  • Identify growth opportunities through market analysis, operational insights, and business intelligence.
  • Lead strategic planning processes and monitor organizational performance against strategic objectives.
  • Develop and oversee the organization's business intelligence strategy and roadmap.
  • Design, implement, and maintain executive dashboards, scorecards, and reporting frameworks.
  • Lead advanced analytics initiatives to identify trends, forecast performance, and support strategic decision-making.
  • Ensure data accuracy, integrity, governance, and accessibility across the organization.
  • Champion self-service analytics and data literacy across business functions.
  • Lead enterprise process improvement initiatives using Lean, Six Sigma, or similar methodologies.
  • Identify operational inefficiencies and implement scalable solutions that improve quality, productivity, and customer outcomes.
  • Establish governance frameworks that promote consistency, accountability, and continuous improvement.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to redesign business processes aligned with strategic priorities.
  • Build, mentor, and develop high-performing teams focused on analytics, reporting, and strategic initiatives.
  • Foster collaboration between business units, finance, IT, operations, and executive leadership.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor by communicating complex analytical findings in clear, actionable business terms.
  • Lead organizational change initiatives supporting data-driven decision making.
  • Develop enterprise KPIs and performance measurement frameworks.
  • Monitor organizational performance and recommend corrective actions where appropriate.
  • Present executive-level reports and strategic recommendations to senior leadership and governing boards.
  • Drive accountability through transparent reporting and measurable outcomes.
