About The Position

Heartline Staffing, Strategic Talent Partners with Purple Cow Recruiting, is seeking an experienced Senior Director of Business Development to support Pharmacy Benefit Management (PBM) growth initiatives. This senior-level role is responsible for driving new business development and sales growth within the pharmacy division. The Senior Director serves as a subject matter expert for PBM programs and partners closely with corporate consultants, HR leaders, and internal sales, marketing, and pharmacy leadership teams to expand PBM participation and revenue. This position is an individual contributor role with high visibility and significant market-facing responsibilities.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in mathematics, science, business, marketing, health administration, or related field required
  • Minimum of 10 years of current business development experience in the pharmacy or PBM space REQUIRED
  • At least 5 years of experience in management or senior leadership roles
  • Proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales growth goals
  • Experience leading sales initiatives and managing complex pipelines
  • Strong experience working with HR buyers (Benefits Managers, VP HR, etc.)
  • Extensive experience working with third-party consultants and brokers
  • Deep understanding of PBM contracting, operations, and program design
  • Must have CURRENT business development experience in the pharmacy space to be considered
  • Ability to travel up to 30%

  • Professional designation such as MBA, PharmD, RPh, ASA, or FSA preferred

Responsibilities

  • Meet or exceed annual sales growth goals for the pharmacy division
  • Serve as PBM program expert to external corporate stakeholders including consultants, HR leaders, and executive decision-makers
  • Assist in the development and execution of annual sales strategies and tactics
  • Create and manage targeted prospect and channel partner pursuit lists
  • Maintain a strong and active pipeline across all stages of the sales cycle
  • Lead outreach to new business opportunities and manage consultant and broker relationships
  • Support and collaborate with PBM vendor sales teams and internal pharmacy leadership
  • Contribute to RFP strategy, responses, and final engagement support
  • Coach and support sales team members with subject matter expertise when needed
  • Collaborate on the development of sales and marketing materials, webinars, and educational content
  • Maintain a strong, visible presence in the marketplace through meetings, conferences, and industry events
  • Travel as needed to support business development efforts
