About The Position

We're looking for a Senior Director of Brand Marketing to define and scale Crunchyroll's global brand for anime fans. Reporting to the SVP, Brand & Community, you'll own the end-to-end brand vision and ensure Crunchyroll remains clear, distinctive, and culturally relevant in a fast-evolving global entertainment landscape. You'll oversee brand strategy, campaigns, and creative expression across markets, balancing long-term brand equity with near-term growth. You'll shape how Crunchyroll shows up across campaigns, partnerships, and cultural moments, strengthening fan connection and expanding global reach. We ask that you have strong executive presence, cross-company influence, and the ability to operate at both strategic and operational depth.

Requirements

  • 15+ years in brand marketing with senior leadership experience
  • Global brand leadership experience
  • Track record of building differentiated, culturally relevant brands
  • Experience in anime, entertainment, media, gaming, or culture-focused brands
  • Experience engaging passion-driven audiences or fandoms
  • Strong creative judgment and storytelling instincts
  • Proven ability to lead senior teams and influence executives
  • Experience leading consumer-facing marketing campaigns and partnerships

Responsibilities

  • Define and evolve Crunchyroll's global brand strategy, positioning, and narrative in alignment with company vision and long-term growth objectives
  • Serve as the primary steward of the brand, ensuring consistency, clarity, and differentiation across all consumer touchpoints
  • Identify white space and emerging opportunities within anime, fandom, and broader culture
  • Lead the development and execution of large-scale, integrated brand campaigns
  • Drive emotional connection with fans while delivering measurable business impact, including subscriber growth
  • Partner closely with Creative, Comms, Growth, Product Marketing, Content, and Regional teams
  • Set the creative vision and bar for brand expression
  • Oversee brand identity, voice, and storytelling across advertising, social, content and partnerships
  • Lead brand moments tied to major releases, events, and cultural milestones
  • Embed brand thinking across all teams and lines of business
  • Serve as a senior advisor to executive leadership on brand health and cultural relevance
  • Align global and regional stakeholders around a unified brand vision
  • Build, lead, and mentor a high-performing global brand marketing team
  • Establish clear priorities, operating rhythms, and success metrics
  • Lead agency and partner relationships with high standards
  • Define and track brand health metrics including awareness, affinity, and advocacy
  • Leverage fan insights and data to refine strategy and execution
  • Balance qualitative cultural signals with quantitative performance data
