About The Position

Aristotle is seeking a Senior Director, Advocacy to manage client advocacy programs and drive strategy and execution across the full range of our public affairs work. The right candidate has a few years of real advocacy experience under their belt, whether in a firm, on Capitol Hill, in a campaign, or inside an organization running issue campaigns. They understand how federal or state policy gets made, know how to build and move stakeholder coalitions, and are comfortable translating a client's policy goals into an organized campaign with clear tactics and measurable progress. This is a hands-on role. The Senior Director will lead day-to-day client work, coordinate across stakeholder engagement, coalition building, and digital activation, and partner with senior team members on more complex engagements. We want someone who is ready to do serious advocacy work and grow alongside a team that is winning.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Political Science, Communications, Public Policy, Public Affairs, a related field, or equivalent work experience.
  • 2 to 4 years of experience in advocacy, public affairs, government relations, campaigns, legislative work, account management, communications, or a related field.
  • Working understanding of the legislative process and interest in lobbying, grassroots advocacy, stakeholder engagement, and public affairs campaigns.
  • Strong writing, editing, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Comfort using digital advocacy tools, CRM systems, email platforms, social media tools, or similar technology.
  • Strong organization, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced team environment.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior Capitol Hill, campaign, association, corporate government affairs, public affairs, or agency experience.
  • Experience coordinating events, lobby days, webinars, fly-ins, or stakeholder meetings.
  • Experience with social media management, social listening, paid social coordination, project management tools, or stakeholder research.

Responsibilities

  • Support federal, state, and local advocacy campaigns alongside senior team members and client account teams.
  • Track issues, monitor legislative developments, and recommend updates to advocacy content, outreach plans, and position materials.
  • Assist with fly-ins, lobby days, coalition meetings, stakeholder briefings, webinars, and other advocacy events.
  • Draft and edit action alerts, newsletters, social content, talking points, leave-behinds, website copy, and client materials.
  • Manage digital assets for social channels and websites, ensuring content is accurate, timely, and aligned with client objectives.
  • Coordinate tasks across creative, data, digital, technology, and client service teams.
  • Research policymakers, districts, agencies, committees, companies, coalitions, and stakeholder audiences to support strategy and outreach.
  • Track campaign activity, prepare status updates, capture meeting follow-ups, and support reporting against client goals.
