Senior Direct Procurement - Solutions Architect (Hybrid: Detroit, MI)

About the role you're considering: You will be working within Capgemini’s Intelligent Supply Chain practice, focusing on Direct Procurement and Strategic Sourcing transformation for manufacturing clients. You will design and deliver end-to-end procurement solutions, aligning sourcing, supplier collaboration, and cost optimization with engineering and supply chain objectives, while supporting proposal development and client engagements.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree or higher in Engineering, Supply Chain, or related field
- 10+ years in Direct Procurement / Strategic Sourcing (consulting or industry)
- Strong expertise in: Strategic sourcing & category management
- Supplier management & negotiations
- Cost modeling and procurement KPIs
- Knowledge of manufacturing, BOM structures, and engineering-procurement integration
Responsibilities
- Align client direct procurement strategies to drive growth, focusing on sourcing, supplier collaboration, cost engineering, and digitalization
- Deliver procurement transformation programs, integrating procurement with engineering, manufacturing, and supply chain
- Develop business cases and ROI models (cost savings, working capital, supplier performance)
- Define Target Operating Models including processes, governance, and system integration (PLM–ERP–Procurement)
- Lead strategic sourcing, category management, and supplier segmentation initiatives
- Drive cost optimization through should-cost, VAVE, and design-to-cost approaches
- Design digital procurement solutions leveraging SAP, Ariba, Coupa, and analytics platforms
- Enable AI/analytics-driven procurement capabilities (spend analytics, supplier risk, performance)
