About The Position

Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) is seeking a Senior Digital Engineering Manager (Level M) to join the Systems Engineering Integration & Test (SEIT) Team. This role involves leading Digital Engineering teams within the Digital Ecosystem Integrated Product Team (IPT), responsible for developing a future-ready, state-of-the-art Digital Ecosystem. This ecosystem aims to facilitate seamless collaboration and data exchange among customers, industry partners, and other stakeholders to enhance mission readiness, operational effectiveness, and drive innovation. The selected candidate will oversee program execution and lead Digital Engineering teams in architecting and integrating enterprise solutions for the program’s data management strategy. This includes enabling advanced data analytics, AI/ML capabilities, and streamlined collaboration. The cross-functional team also manages Configuration Management / Data Management, Product Lifecycle Management, Assured Data Transfers, and enterprise tool application support and administration. The role requires planning, organizing, and directing activities to meet cost, schedule, and performance goals. This involves establishing technical vision and strategy with subject matter experts, coordinating resources across functional areas, and managing technical subcontractor activities. Additionally, the role focuses on building strong relationships with customers and stakeholders, implementing an effective team operating rhythm, and fostering clear communication and collaboration. The leader will develop and track performance metrics, manage Earned Value Management (EVM) reporting and analysis, and oversee risk, issue, and opportunity management. The ideal candidate will champion a team culture of transparency, inclusivity, and collaboration to ensure successful program execution and maintain the systems engineering, technical integrity, and quality of the integrated system.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (including manufacturing engineering technology), chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science
  • Minimum 7 years of engineering leadership experience.
  • Minimum 3 years of formal engineering management experience.
  • Experience managing risks, cost performance, and schedule performance across multiple engineering disciplines.
  • Experience integrating complex systems
  • Demonstrated experience communicating effectively at multiple levels (direct reports, peers, executive leaders, and customers)
  • Proven track record of execution in a development environment.
  • This position requires an active U.S. Secret Security Clearance with ability to receive special program access (U.S. Citizenship Required). (A U.S. Security Clearance that has been active in the past 24 months is considered active)
  • Special Program Access or other Government Access Requirements are mandatory for this position.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the Digital Engineering and PLM teams focused on software, system and data integration development efforts in support of digital engineering / model-based engineering capabilities and Product Lifecycle Management.
  • Work cross-functionally with multiple Integrated Product Teams (IPTs), functions, and the BDS Digital Production System “Sapphire” team to enable adoption and integration of new digital engineering capabilities and the BDS Sapphire architecture into the Digital Ecosystem.
  • Responsibility, Accountability and Authority for the execution of the Digital Engineering and PLM scope of work and charters.
  • Actively participate in agile development, including program increment planning.
  • Interface daily with customers and Boeing program office teams.
  • Foster a proactive environment for technical oversight and risk management.
  • Champions the use of Development Excellence methodology, technical design reviews, and integrating expertise to achieve digital engineering solutions.
  • Establishes governance and consideration of standard tools, processes, and legacy architectures to yield step change improvements in digital engineering capabilities.
  • Prioritize the development and career growth of employees and team and enhance the skills of team members through effective coaching, mentoring, and performance assessments.
  • Strategically plan and coordinate the allocation of resources to achieve program objectives.
