About The Position

WM is seeking a Senior Diesel Mechanic to join their team. This role offers a safer work environment, career progression, and stability. The Senior Diesel Mechanic will be responsible for fixing trucks and equipment that service over 20 million customers across the USA. This position involves working on diesel equipment and potentially CNG trucks, requiring a high level of skill and determination. The mechanic will use modern tools and procedures to deliver exceptional maintenance.

Requirements

  • 4 years of heavy-duty truck experience
  • A valid driver’s license, with a clean driving record
  • Be over 18 years of age.
  • Legally eligible to work in the United States
  • Ability to perform physical requirements of the position with or without reasonable accommodations.
  • Successfully complete and pass pre-employment drug screen and physical.

Responsibilities

  • Inspect, diagnose and repair electrical, hydraulic, suspension, brake and air systems on a wide range of vehicles and equipment.
  • Estimates time and material costs on vehicle repairs and new parts.
  • Perform your work within our Standard Labor Repair Times (SRTs).
  • Respond to service calls for emergency breakdowns.
  • Safety checks on vehicles.
  • Complete required paperwork, documenting parts usage, and accounting for repair times.
  • Assisting Diesel Mechanics in the completion of project work.
  • Reviews, completes, or assigns repairs identified on Driver Vehicle Inspection Reports.
  • Maintains a clean, safe work area in compliance with Corporate / OSHA Standards and perform all work in accordance with established safety procedures.
