About The Position
WM is seeking a Senior Diesel Mechanic to join their team. This role offers a safer work environment, financial security, and opportunities for career advancement. The Senior Diesel Mechanic will be responsible for the repair and maintenance of trucks and equipment, including diesel and CNG vehicles, using modern tools and procedures. The position requires a high level of skill and determination, with a focus on safety and community support. This is a mobile mechanic position covering Maryland and Virginia, requiring approximately 70% travel.
Requirements
- 4 years of relevant work experience
- A valid drivers license, with a clean driving record
- Be over 18 years of age.
- Legally eligible to work in the United States
- Ability to perform physical requirements of the position with or without reasonable accommodations.
- Successfully complete and pass pre-employment drug screen and physical.

Responsibilities
- Inspect, diagnose and repair electrical, hydraulic, suspension, brake and air systems on a wide range of vehicles and equipment.
- Estimates time and material costs on vehicle repairs and new parts.
- Perform work within Standard Labor Repair Times (SRTs).
- Respond to service calls for emergency breakdowns.
- Perform safety checks on vehicles.
- Complete required paperwork, documenting parts usage, and accounting for repair times.
- Reviews, completes, or assigns repairs identified on Driver Vehicle Inspection Reports.
- Maintains a clean, safe work area in compliance with Corporate / OSHA Standards and perform all work in accordance with established safety procedures.
