About The Position

This role is for a Senior Diesel/CNG Mechanic at WM, a leading provider of waste management and environmental services. The mechanic will be responsible for maintaining and repairing the company's fleet of diesel and CNG trucks and equipment, ensuring the reliable service of waste management operations. The role involves diagnosing and repairing various vehicle systems, estimating repair costs, performing work within standard times, responding to emergency breakdowns, conducting safety checks, and completing necessary paperwork. The job is located in a repair/maintenance shop at WM's Rochester, NH hauling site.

Requirements

  • 4 years of relevant work experience
  • A valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
  • Be over 18 years of age.
  • Legally eligible to work in the United States.
  • Ability to perform physical requirements of the position with or without reasonable accommodations.
  • Successfully complete and pass pre-employment drug screen and physical.

Responsibilities

  • Inspect, diagnose and repair electrical, hydraulic, suspension, brake and air systems on a wide range of vehicles and equipment.
  • Estimate time and material costs on vehicle repairs and new parts.
  • Perform work within Standard Labor Repair Times (SRTs).
  • Respond to service calls for emergency breakdowns.
  • Conduct safety checks on vehicles.
  • Complete required paperwork, documenting parts usage, and accounting for repair times.
  • Review, complete, or assign repairs identified on Driver Vehicle Inspection Reports.
  • Maintain a clean, safe work area in compliance with Corporate / OSHA Standards and perform all work in accordance with established safety procedures.
