About The Position

Semgrep is seeking a Senior DevTools Engineer to join their new DevTools discipline under the TechOps team. This role will focus on enhancing the software development lifecycle by building AI-ready tools, processes, and infrastructure. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in developer tooling, LLMs, cloud infrastructure, technical operations, and security, with a passion for improving developer experiences. You will be responsible for designing and managing cloud-build environments, creating a "golden path" for citizen developers using LLMs, and ensuring development processes meet the demands of Engineering, Security, and TechOps stakeholders.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of software engineering experience, with significant experience in developer tooling, software engineering, or infrastructure engineering roles.
  • Experience designing, deploying, and maintaining AWS (or GCP) infrastructure that handles real-world loads.
  • Strong opinions and experience in improving Developer Experience (DevEx).
  • Comfort with Python and TypeScript.
  • Service-oriented mindset, viewing Semgrep employees as customers.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with cloud security, container security, and supply chain threats.
  • Experience with Semgrep Code (or other SAST tooling).
  • Experience with Semgrep Supply Chain (or other SCA tools).

Responsibilities

  • Design, build, and help manage cloud-build environments, making them ready for agentic development.
  • Build the golden path for citizen developers, providing secure, reliable, and redundant infrastructure for app development.
  • Help get existing developer processes "AI-ready" by partnering with Engineering to ensure tools and codebases support agentic workflows.
  • Build and deploy developer tooling, infrastructure, and processes to support AI-ready workflows.
  • Bridge Engineering, Security, and TechOps to ensure development processes meet the demands of all three stakeholders.
