About The Position

Semgrep is seeking a Senior DevTools Engineer to join their new DevTools discipline under the TechOps team. This role will focus on enhancing the software development lifecycle by building AI-ready tools, processes, and infrastructure. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in developer tooling, LLMs, cloud infrastructure, technical operations, and security, with a passion for improving developer experiences. You will be responsible for designing and managing cloud-build environments, creating a "golden path" for citizen developers using LLMs, and ensuring development processes meet the demands of Engineering, Security, and TechOps stakeholders.

Requirements

5+ years of software engineering experience, with significant experience in developer tooling, software engineering, or infrastructure engineering roles.
Experience designing, deploying, and maintaining AWS (or GCP) infrastructure that handles real-world loads.
Strong opinions and experience in improving Developer Experience (DevEx).
Comfort with Python and TypeScript.
Service-oriented mindset, viewing Semgrep employees as customers.

Nice To Haves

Experience with cloud security, container security, and supply chain threats.
Experience with Semgrep Code (or other SAST tooling).
Experience with Semgrep Supply Chain (or other SCA tools).

Responsibilities

Design, build, and help manage cloud-build environments, making them ready for agentic development.
Build the golden path for citizen developers, providing secure, reliable, and redundant infrastructure for app development.
Help get existing developer processes "AI-ready" by partnering with Engineering to ensure tools and codebases support agentic workflows.
Build and deploy developer tooling, infrastructure, and processes to support AI-ready workflows.
Bridge Engineering, Security, and TechOps to ensure development processes meet the demands of all three stakeholders.
