Senior DevSecOps Engineer – Mission Solutions

Integer Technologies•Tallahassee, FL

About The Position

Integer Technologies is hiring a Senior DevSecOps Engineer for Mission Solutions to own the shared build, test, security, and release platform supporting digital engineering and unmanned systems programs. The role turns practices proven on individual programs into reusable capabilities that engineers can adopt across programs, while accommodating cloud and GovCloud, Integer-owned infrastructure, customer systems, vehicles, edge hardware, and disconnected or air-gapped sites. The platform must establish a common minimum standard for review, testing, security, and traceability without disrupting field operations. The engineer will own the infrastructure and pipelines used to deliver customer software and be accountable for their security and stability, ensuring changes are built, tested, scanned, and traceable before delivery and remain so after release. The role builds on existing foundations, connecting and enforcing them and measuring their effectiveness. Tooling may change across CI/CD and work-management platforms, so the engineer will design portable practices rather than depend on one vendor. This is a hands-on role with ownership, working directly with software engineers, researchers, and program leads and documenting decisions. The engineer will also work closely with a QA engineer and a security-focused developer as those roles are filled.

Requirements

  • Must be a U.S. citizen and able to obtain and maintain a U.S. DoD Secret Clearance.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software or Computer Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field, with at least 6 years of hands-on DevOps, platform, build and release, or site reliability engineering experience; alternatively, a master’s degree with at least 4 years of such experience.
  • Demonstrated experience designing and operating CI/CD pipelines, authoring reusable templates, and managing build agents or runners on one or more platforms such as Azure DevOps, Atlassian tools, AWS developer tools, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, or Jenkins.
  • Ability to transfer CI/CD practices between platforms.
  • Experience operating infrastructure that delivers software to customers and keeping it secure, available, and recoverable, including patching, hardening, monitoring, backup, and incident response.
  • Strong working knowledge of containers, including Docker image builds, multi-stage and multi-architecture builds, image registries, and Compose or similar orchestration.
  • Hands-on experience integrating vulnerability, secret, and dependency scanning into delivery pipelines, generating SBOMs, and acting on findings.
  • Experience with artifact and package management, such as Nexus or Artifactory, and Git branching, pull request policy, and code review workflows.
  • Proficiency in Linux administration and scripting or programming for automation, such as Python and Bash.
  • Experience with infrastructure as code or configuration management and reproducible environments.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills, including documenting decisions and explaining trade-offs to technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Ability to work independently on ambiguous problems, prioritize across several programs, and deliver working results.
  • Ability to travel occasionally, up to approximately 15% of the time, for program meetings, integration events, and field tests.

Nice To Haves

  • PowerShell experience.
  • Experience with robotics, embedded, or edge software, including ROS 2 and cross-compiling for ARM64.
  • Experience deploying to air-gapped, disconnected, or GovCloud environments.
  • Experience with Python packaging and environment management, such as conda or Poetry, and governed or mirrored package repositories.
  • Experience with software supply-chain security practices such as artifact signing and provenance, including Sigstore or SLSA.
  • Familiarity with NIST 800-53 and the Risk Management Framework, DISA STIGs, or CMMC.
  • Experience with observability tooling such as Prometheus, Grafana, or OpenTelemetry.
  • Experience with static analysis and quality gates such as SonarQube, and test automation for simulation or hardware-in-the-loop systems.
  • Experience supporting Department of Defense or other U.S. Government research and development programs.

Responsibilities

  • Own the shared delivery platform by designing, building, and maintaining reusable pipeline templates, build agents and runners, and branch policies, and bringing repositories onto the shared standard.
  • Keep platform design portable across CI/CD and work-management tools so platform changes do not require a rewrite.
  • Own infrastructure used to build and deliver customer software across cloud, GovCloud, and Integer-owned systems, including build and artifact infrastructure, environments, secrets, access, and capacity.
  • Make customer delivery repeatable, auditable, and recoverable.
  • Automate build, test, and end-to-end validation; maintain reproducible automated build and test processes and scheduled or on-demand end-to-end validation.
  • Partner with QA to ensure pipeline stages have meaningful pass/fail outcomes and that test results can reliably gate releases.
  • Operate vulnerability, secret, license, and misconfiguration scanning; generate and store SBOMs; define severity-based release gates; harden base images; and control package sources.
  • Move toward signed, traceable artifacts and support teams in assessing scan results and remediating findings to compliance.
  • Help establish vulnerability owners, severity-based remediation timelines, and an exceptions process in partnership with the security-focused developer.
  • Automate repeatable, verifiable release and deployment to cloud, GovCloud, vehicle, edge, and disconnected targets, including rollback and recovery.
  • Build automated checks and reports linking code changes to work items and funding sources across repositories, and support IP and compliance reviews with system-generated evidence.
  • Develop shared logging, telemetry, and health-check capabilities for repository adoption, including program-specific exporters for field and disconnected environments.
  • Instrument delivery metrics, including lead time, deployment success, change failure, and time to recover, and use them to prioritize improvements.
  • Write standards, templates, and decision records that enable self-service; mentor engineers on build, test, and security practices; and support programs adopting the common baseline.
  • Document decisions and work directly with software engineers, researchers, and program leads; collaborate with QA and security-focused colleagues as those roles are filled.
