In this role, you will operate at the intersection of platform engineering, DevOps, and developer experience, building scalable, secure, and reliable systems that enable product teams to move faster with confidence. You’ll work deeply with AWS, Kubernetes, Infrastructure as Code, and CI/CD systems, partnering closely with software engineers, SREs, and security teams to define best practices and improve building and delivering software at Solace.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in Platform Engineering, DevOps, SRE, or related roles
  • Strong hands-on experience designing and operating CI/CD systems (e.g., GitHub Actions, Jenkins or similar)
  • Solid experience with Kubernetes, containerization, and orchestration (Docker, Helm)
  • Proven experience with Infrastructure as Code, particularly Terraform
  • Strong proficiency in at least one programming language such as Go, Python, or similar
  • Experience working in AWS or other major cloud platforms
  • Strong understanding of software delivery lifecycles, testing strategies, and release management
  • Ability to work cross-functionally and influence platform standards across teams

Nice To Haves

  • Experience building internal developer platforms (IDPs) or self-service tooling
  • Familiarity with secrets management (e.g., HashiCorp Vault)
  • Experience improving developer experience (DevX) at scale
  • Background in highly regulated or security-conscious environments

Responsibilities

  • Design, build, and maintain highly reliable CI/CD pipelines that support large-scale, cloud-native microservices
  • Build and maintain developer environments (local, ephemeral, and cloud-based) that are fast, secure, and easy to use
  • Define and implement Infrastructure as Code using Terraform and Helm to manage cloud resources and Kubernetes workloads
  • Partner with engineering teams to standardize deployment, testing, and release workflows
  • Improve platform observability, security, and reliability across the SDLC
  • Mentor other engineers and contribute to technical design discussions and architectural decisions
  • Drive continuous improvement by identifying friction points in the developer experience and delivering practical solutions

Benefits

  • Flexibility is built into how we work, so everyone feels included and empowered.
  • Our training programs are designed to help you level up, fast.
