About The Position
KBR's National Security Solutions team is seeking a Senior DevOps Engineer in Colorado Springs, CO. This role is crucial for integrating cloud technologies with DevOps practices, requiring a combination of technical skills and operational expertise. The engineer will contribute to prototype projects supporting the U.S. Air Force Research Laboratory's missions, focusing on discovery, development, and integration of affordable warfighting technologies. The environment is collaborative and Agile, empowering engineers to make high-level decisions and prioritizing working code and team autonomy.
Requirements
- Must have an active U.S. government TS/SCI security clearance
- B.S. in Computer Science (or other degrees with relevant work experience or certification)
- 5 years of cloud-based solution design experience
- 2 years of PaaS/SaaS applications experience
- 1+ years of experience building helm charts and Kubernetes API objects
- 1+ years of experience writing Dockerfiles and containerizing applications
- 3+ years of experience with GNU/Linux commands, shell navigation, and Git version control
- Ability to research and solve complex technical problems independently
Nice To Haves
- Competence in building pipelines, preferably with GitLab
- Experience delivering a cloud native application
- Experience with AWS or Azure cloud services
- Familiarity with OAuth2, OIDC flows, or KeyCloak
- Experience with IaC tools, especially Terraform
- Experience deploying to air-gapped networks
- Experience with Cert Manager, OpenSSL, and Public Key Infrastructure
- Experience with event streaming services, especially Kafka
Responsibilities
- Build and deploy helm charts to Kubernetes clusters
- Develop GitLab CI/CD pipelines to build, scan, publish, and deploy containers and helm charts
- Troubleshoot failed deployments and pipelines
- Containerize custom applications
- Design high-level architecture for cloud-native networks and systems
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support a variety of tech stacks
