About The Position

As a Two Six Technologies Senior DevOps Engineer, you will own the end-to-end automation of our delivery pipelines. Acting as the glue between code and production, you will ensure that our product makes it to the customer quickly, securely, and reliably. You will work closely with developers, testers, product owners, and customers to ensure requirements are met and successfully deployed in a variety of environments, ranging from cloud-native to standalone bare metal. The work will be onsite in our Herndon, VA office. Candidate must have an active TS/SCI clearance.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in DevOps, Systems Engineering, or SRE roles with a focus on product delivery.
  • Strong background in RHEL and Debian variants, including comfort with systemd, networking tools (iptables/tcpdump), and shell scripting.
  • Proficiency with Terraform and Ansible to automate environment setup and product configuration.
  • Hands-on experience with Docker and familiarity with Nomad, Vault, and Kubernetes.
  • Strong proficiency in Python and Bash for developing automation and integration "glue" code.
  • Knowledge in deploying, securing, and maintaining production applications with at least one cloud provider (preferably AWS)
  • Basic proficiency in CI/CD tooling and pipelines, with hands-on experience with GitHub Actions or GitLab Pipelines.
  • Strong understanding of transport protocols, proper port handling, firewall/ACLs, and proxy services.
  • Active TS/SCI required

Responsibilities

  • Build and optimize reliable pipelines to support the secure packaging of our product for diverse customer targets.
  • Handle the security and configuration of deployment environments, ensuring our products are "secure by default" upon delivery to bare metal, on-prem, and cloud environments.
  • Partner with engineering teams to ensure that our system's functional decomposition remains operationally fluid and easy to manage.
  • Use Terraform and Ansible to ensure customer-facing environments are consistently configured and hardened.
  • Provide feedback on the "deployability" of the system to ensure architectural decisions result in a stable and maintainable product for the end customer.
  • Documentation of the deployment and operational aspects of the system as required
