About The Position

The Source is seeking a Senior Development Officer to expand philanthropic support through major gifts, corporate partnerships, foundations, churches, and community engagement. This role involves building meaningful relationships with donors and prospects, communicating the impact of The Source's services, and inspiring investment in their mission. The Senior Development Officer will act as a visible ambassador for The Source, focusing on comprehensive, life-affirming healthcare and pregnancy support for women and families.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Communications, Nonprofit Management, Marketing, Public Relations, or a related field preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of progressive fundraising, business development, sales, or relationship management experience with demonstrated success in securing significant gifts or investments.
  • Proven success cultivating, soliciting, and stewarding individual donors and strategic partners.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
  • Self-motivated with exceptional initiative and follow-through.
  • Demonstrated professionalism, discretion, and confidentiality.
  • Ability to build authentic relationships with donors, volunteers, church leaders, business executives, and community stakeholders.
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office and donor CRM systems (Salesforce preferred).
  • Ability to work occasional evenings and weekends for donor meetings and special events.

Responsibilities

  • Manage a portfolio of qualified mass, mid-level and major donors through intentional cultivation, solicitation, stewardship, and moves management.
  • Develop individualized engagement strategies designed to deepen donor relationships and increase philanthropic investment.
  • Conduct face-to-face donor visits, virtual meetings, and personalized follow-up throughout the donor journey.
  • Prepare compelling proposals, cases for support, impact reports, and gift agreements aligned with donor interests.
  • Identify prospective major donors through research, referrals, and community networking.
  • Create meaningful stewardship experiences that communicate gratitude and demonstrate the impact of donor generosity.
  • Support and strengthen The Source's monthly giving and mass donor programs through donor engagement and recruitment.
  • Provide tours of clinics and facilitate opportunities for donors to experience the ministry firsthand.
  • Cultivate relationships with corporations, foundations, civic organizations, and community leaders.
  • Research, prepare, and manage grant proposals and reports as assigned.
  • Pursue sponsorships and strategic partnerships that advance organizational priorities.
  • Represent The Source at networking events, ministry fairs, community functions, and speaking engagements.
  • Assist in planning and executing annual fundraising events, donor receptions, campaigns, and special initiatives.
  • Recruit sponsors, table hosts, volunteers, and community advocates.
  • Collaborate with the Senior Director of Development to execute annual fundraising strategies and achieve organizational revenue goals.
  • Participate in prospect strategy meetings and moves management planning.
  • Monitor fundraising performance and provide regular reports on portfolio activity, pipeline movement, and donor engagement.
  • Maintain accurate donor records, contact reports, proposals, and stewardship activities within Salesforce.
