GBH enriches people's lives through programs and services that educate, inspire, and entertain, fostering citizenship and culture, the joy of learning, and the power of diverse perspectives. At GBH, we believe in the advantages of coming together to build community, mentor and learn from colleagues, and connect more deeply with our mission. As a result, the majority of our staff are hybrid and work both from home and onsite. Our current hybrid approach requires staff to work onsite a minimum of two days each week, every Tuesday and Wednesday, Hybrid staff are also welcome to come in additional days each week or may be asked to come in on other days by their manager. New England Public Media (NEPM), based in Springfield, MA, is a service of the WGBH Educational Foundation (GBH) and provides Western Massachusetts with a broad array of local and national public media programs and services across all media – TV, radio, online, and mobile – including PBS and NPR programs as well as locally produced series, podcasts, and specials. It is a treasured resource in the region for news, jazz and classical music, educational programming, and community engagement. As part of GBH Development, the Springfield-based NEPM fundraising team plays a vital role in engaging donors and supporters throughout Western Massachusetts who are passionate about NEPM's local journalism, programming, and community impact. Working in close collaboration with colleagues across GBH's broader Development organization, the Springfield team integrates the extensive institutional capabilities of a national public media leader with the specialized insight and regional dedication of a high-impact local team. The Senior Development Officer (SDO) reports to NEPM’s Senior Development Manager. The SDO is a member of the NEPM development team, which is responsible for raising over $2 million in gifts annually across annual fund, major gifts, bequests, and grants. In addition to managing a portfolio of prospects and donors, the MGO plays a key role in strategy for the Murrow Society, NEPM’s patron program for donors contributing annual fund gifts of $1,200 or more, and works closely with the Sr. Development Manager to build out offerings and services that improve donor engagement and inspire increased support of NEPM. Specific goals will be tied to upgrades within Murrow Society, major giving donor qualification, as well as visits made. This is a transformative period for NEPM, as it navigates profound changes in its business model, driven by the changing media landscape and evolving sources of revenue. Some local travel and occasional evening and weekend hours required.
