About The Position

The Onboarding team at Jane is looking for a Senior Developer to join their mission. This team plays a critical role in a clinic's journey with Jane, focusing on the period after signup and before they become successful users. The team's work involves solving activation and retention challenges by getting new customers through their first critical days. They achieve this through running experiments, small projects, feature toggles, and rapid iteration. The ideal candidate will thrive in a fast-paced environment, enjoy shipping clean solutions, and be excited about using AI to build better products. This role is about moving fast, seeing results quickly, and lifting the people around you.

Requirements

  • A university degree in Computer Science or a related STEM field plus approximately 5+ years of experience. Those with a Master's or PhD may be considered with less. Alternatively, candidates with 8+ years of industry experience gained through non-traditional paths - such as bootcamps or self-teaching - are also encouraged to apply.
  • Significant depth in at least one technical domain, with demonstrated ability to independently design, build, and deliver medium-complexity projects or services with minimal course correction from senior leadership.
  • Strong working knowledge of modern development workflows, generative AI tools, and how to use them effectively - candidates who have shipped real outcomes using AI are strongly preferred.
  • Experience making sound architectural and technical trade-offs in ambiguous situations, with a clear track record of writing secure, maintainable, and reliable code across the full SDLC.
  • Demonstrated ability to mentor and uplevel more junior engineers through example, code review, and collaboration - with a genuine interest in the success of the team, not just your own deliverables.

Responsibilities

  • Ship experiments quickly and measure outcomes with discipline, moving the team from idea to validated learning in days, not weeks, and helping the team decide what's worth building further.
  • Partner across product domains to connect the dots between signup, onboarding, charting, and beyond, creating frictionless activation experiences that no single team could build alone.
  • Own the quality and reliability of your team's features in production, driving observability, catching issues proactively, and setting a high bar for maintainable, secure code.
  • Mentor and coach more junior developers through code reviews, pairing, and clear communication, raising the team's technical craft and helping others grow into greater ownership.
  • Contribute to architectural decisions and technical trade-offs that balance speed with sustainability, knowing when to move fast and when to invest in the foundation.
