About The Position

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Developer to join our client’s Data team and support enterprise archival and AI initiatives. This role will focus on metadata creation and management for archival project data and the development of AI-powered capabilities that enable intelligent search, discovery, and classification of archival content. The Senior Developer will collaborate closely with the Archivist, Archives Administrator, and cross-functional business teams to improve access to enterprise data and drive operational efficiency. The ideal candidate brings strong experience in data engineering, AI/ML development, metadata management, and unstructured data processing. This role will play a key part in advancing the organization’s data strategy through scalable data pipelines, governance frameworks, and agentic AI capabilities.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, Data Analytics, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 8 years of professional experience in software development, data engineering, or related technical roles.
  • Expert knowledge of programming principles, software development methodologies, and coding best practices.
  • Strong proficiency in Python, .NET/C#, and/or JavaScript.
  • Extensive experience with API development and testing tools such as Postman.
  • Hands-on experience building and maintaining data pipelines using SQL and Python.
  • Strong understanding of metadata standards, taxonomies, and machine-readable data structures.
  • Experience developing, evaluating, and maintaining AI/ML models and AI agents.
  • Experience working with embeddings, vector databases, or semantic search technologies for unstructured content.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working within the Architecture, Engineering, and Construction (AEC) industry.
  • Familiarity with AEC platforms such as Hexagon, Bentley, and Autodesk Construction Cloud (ACC).

Responsibilities

  • Lead metadata management and enrichment initiatives across enterprise repositories including SharePoint, Distributed File Systems (DFS), and Preservica.
  • Design and implement data governance, archival, and compliance strategies for project data and content.
  • Administer archival retention policies to ensure data integrity, accessibility, and compliance.
  • Develop and maintain classification frameworks supporting Role-Based Access Control (RBAC) and Attribute-Based Access Control (ABAC).
  • Design, develop, and maintain scalable data pipelines using SQL and Python.
  • Integrate and harmonize data from engineering and project execution platforms including Hexagon, Bentley, and Autodesk Construction Cloud (ACC).
  • Collaborate with business and technical teams to identify, extract, organize, and prepare data for analytics and AI initiatives.
  • Implement Optical Character Recognition (OCR) solutions to extract structured data from large-scale unstructured content sources.
  • Build and maintain Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) pipelines for intelligent content classification and discovery.
  • Develop and support AI-driven archive and classification agents.
  • Evaluate and improve Generative AI models and agents for quality, safety, reliability, and grounded outputs using established evaluation frameworks.
  • Support development of embeddings and vector-based search solutions for unstructured data environments.
