About The Position

Relay is hiring a Senior Developer Success Engineer to make Relay easier for developers to use when moving value onchain. The role works directly with integrators, helps complex implementations reach production, and uses integration feedback to improve Relay’s product. The Customer team owns commercial relationships; this role owns the technical relationship. The position is remote within the United States, with a strong preference for Eastern Time, and covers US business hours. The engineer will support integrations from initial implementation through healthy production, troubleshoot issues with developers, and determine whether problems call for clearer guidance, a better implementation, or product changes. They will turn recurring integration work into documentation, examples, templates, and tooling, and relay insights to improve APIs, workflows, and product decisions.

Requirements

At least 5 years in Developer Success, Developer Relations, or Solutions Engineering, or similar experience in software development.
Experience owning high-stakes technical issues with external developers through resolution.
Ability to independently prototype, debug, test, and verify production integrations.
A body of developer-facing work—such as documentation, examples, demos, or tools—that made a technical product easier to use.
Strong technical writing and communication skills.
Ability to explain APIs clearly in writing and conversation while maintaining technical precision.
Ability to move between technical and non-technical audiences without losing precision.
Comfort building a new function in a fast-moving startup.
Ability to establish practical standards for writing, improving, and publishing developer documentation.

Nice To Haves

Experience with API-first, infrastructure, payments, fintech, or crypto products.
Familiarity with SDK design, API evolution, and developer tooling.
Experience building documentation or examples for AI coding agents.
Experience with TypeScript and modern web development.

Responsibilities

Cover US business hours.
Own the technical relationship when developers need help integrating with Relay.
Debug issues directly with developers, drive them to resolution, and help prevent or simplify similar issues in the future.
Work alongside developers from their first integration through healthy production.
Help integrators choose the right path through Relay and complete complex implementations.
Move between partner calls, broken integrations, code samples, and product decisions.
Turn repeated integration work into documentation, examples, templates, and tooling.
Treat documentation as part of the product and create material for developers and AI agents.
Identify where integrations break down and why, and turn those findings into improvements to APIs, workflows, and product decisions.
Measure success by whether developers integrate faster and need less help over time.
