About The Position

Emerson is seeking an innovative and entrepreneurial Senior DevOps Engineer who thrives on building systems and pipelines for reliable, large-scale software delivery. Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related STEM discipline with 7+ years of relevant DevOps or software engineering experience, OR a Master's degree in a related field with 6+ years of relevant experience
Proven experience designing and managing CI/CD pipelines using tools such as Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, Jenkins, or similar platforms
Expertise in Git source control
Hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure services, including virtual machines, storage solutions, and Azure DevOps for build and release pipeline management
Proficiency in scripting and automation using Python, Bash, PowerShell, or similar
Legal authorization to work in the United States without sponsorship now or in the future

Nice To Haves

Experience supporting DevOps practices in industrial, embedded, or real-time software environments
Familiarity with build and packaging workflows for C++, C#, or mixed-language software products
Experience integrating AI-assisted development tooling or spec-driven workflows into CI/CD pipelines
Hands-on experience with infrastructure-as-code tools such as Terraform, ARM templates, or Bicep
Experience with static code analysis tools (SonarQube, Fortify, Coverity)
Container orchestration experience (Docker, Kubernetes)
Knowledge of software signing, artifact management, and secure release processes relevant to industrial or safety-critical software
Demonstrated experience working within Agile or SAFe delivery frameworks
Background in the process control or industrial automation industry

Responsibilities

Champion a creative atmosphere, review and provide detailed feedback on peers' pipeline and infrastructure designs, and actively participate in Agile activities such as sprint planning and retrospectives. Engage in Hackathons, Tech Talks, and Communities of Practice with like-minded engineers.
Design, implement, and maintain CI/CD pipelines that support automated build, test, and deployment workflows across the PACSystems software portfolio, including client applications and real-time system components.
Partner with development teams to build the infrastructure and tooling that supports AI-assisted and spec-driven development workflows, ensuring that intelligent tooling integrates seamlessly into the development lifecycle.
Identify and eliminate manual processes through scripting, infrastructure-as-code, and test automation. Build systems that are reliable, repeatable, and scalable.
Continuously improve the team's development environment, tooling, and processes. Champion the adoption of new practices that improve efficiency, reliability, and developer experience.
Stay current on emerging DevOps tooling, cloud-native practices, AI-enabled automation, and platform engineering trends, and actively look for ways to apply them to real problems.
Ask questions, challenge assumptions, and seek to understand the full system before proposing solutions. Make learning a continuous priority.
