About The Position

Mason's Meats is a Direct-to-Consumer (DTC) brand that produces premium beef jerky and meat snacks using only British and Irish grass-fed beef and sea salt, without additives or sugar. The company currently sells across the UK, EU, Middle East, and other regions, and is expanding into the USA with a new production facility in Austin, Texas, where it will use American grass-fed, grass-finished beef and Anglesey salt. The brand emphasizes a return to real food. The Senior Designer will take complete ownership of design for Mason's Meats on a worldwide basis, collaborating with both remote and local team members. The design, marketing, paid, and retention teams are co-located. This role is not just about execution but also about identifying design gaps, raising the overall standard, and ensuring all creative output is consistent with the Mason's Meats brand identity. The designer will receive briefs and copy and be responsible for executing them to the highest standard, with direct review from founders and the team before anything goes live.

Requirements

  • Precise in every spacing, type, and color decision, ensuring nothing is approximate.
  • A brand guardian who applies the Mason's Meats visual identity with rigor, without reinterpretation.
  • Allergic to generic e-commerce aesthetics, building nothing that resembles a default Shopify template.
  • Fast to iterate, applying founder feedback quickly and moving forward.
  • A team player who works alongside and actively supports other team members contributing to design output, sharing knowledge to improve overall team work.
  • Not reliant on AI-generated imagery, with approval required if its use is genuinely the right call.
  • Figma-first, with other design tools considered if the work demands it.

Responsibilities

  • Design email templates and flows for Klaviyo, including welcome, post-purchase, win-back, and campaign sends, ensuring precision and brand consistency.
  • Produce Meta ad creatives for cold, warm, and retargeting audiences, in static, motion, and UGC-overlay formats.
  • Design Shopify pages, Product Detail Pages (PDPs), landing pages, and bundle pages, optimizing for conversion without compromising brand aesthetic.
  • Create brand and general creatives, such as packaging iterations and organic social content.
  • Receive briefs and copy, and deliver precise, on-brand designs ready for review.
  • Own and maintain the brand visual system, including typography, color, components, spacing, and the psychology behind design decisions.
  • Proactively identify design gaps and bring forward solutions.
  • Review and raise the quality of design work produced by other team members.
  • Keep all assets named, organized, and delivered on schedule.
