We are currently seeking a Senior Designer to enhance our Home and Soft Goods category. This role primarily focuses on throws and totes, with an exciting opportunity for expansion into additional soft goods such as coolers, camping chairs, pet beds, and dog toys. The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience in product design, particularly within textiles and soft goods. A discerning eye for trends, color, and materials is essential, along with the capability to translate concepts into commercially viable and cost-effective products for our Costco and Sams accounts. Experience working across multiple product categories and collaborating cross-functionally with sales and development teams is highly valued.

Requirements

  • Experience designing for soft home décor categories (pillows, throws, blankets) and soft goods such as coolers, camping chairs, pet beds, and dog toys.
  • Robust understanding of materials, construction, and manufacturing processes.
  • Proven ability to lead trend forecasting and storytelling; translating macro trends into clear seasonal concepts, color stories, print direction, and material choices.
  • Experience overseeing the complete product design workflow from concept to completion, including tech pack creation.
  • Strong presentation skills with the ability to articulate design vision clearly to cross-functional partners, global teams, and retail buyers.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and timelines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency in design tools such as Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop.
  • Strong sense of trend, color, and brand alignment.

  • Familiarity with Costco or similar accounts is an advantage.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the Design Process: Oversee the design and development of soft goods and home products from initial concept through production, ensuring that designs meet aesthetic, quality, and cost objectives.
  • Trend Research: Conduct comprehensive market and trend research to inform design direction, remaining ahead of industry developments in materials, patterns, colors, and technologies.
  • Concept Development: Create mood boards, sketches, and prototypes to effectively communicate design ideas to internal teams and stakeholders.
  • Technical Design: Develop detailed technical drawings, specifications, and tech packs to guide sample development and production.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate closely with product development, merchandising, sourcing, and production teams to ensure design feasibility and alignment with business objectives.
  • Vendor Management: Engage with domestic and international vendors to communicate design specifications, review samples, and ensure timely delivery of high-quality products.
  • Quality Assurance: Participate in sample reviews and fittings, providing constructive feedback to refine products to meet quality and design standards.
  • Project Management: Manage multiple projects concurrently, adhering to timelines and ensuring all deliverables are met.
  • Mentorship: Offer guidance and mentorship to junior designers and design assistants, fostering a collaborative and creative work environment.
  • Brand Alignment: Ensure all designs are consistent with the brand’s aesthetic and effectively meet the needs of our target customer base.
