The Role: As a Senior Design Release Engineer specializing in Outsourced Brake Controls Software, you will play a critical role in the design, development, and integration of complex software systems for automotive brake controls. Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in software design, development, and integration, preferably within the automotive industry.
  • Demonstrated proficiency with Engineering Release Systems and their application in a complex product development environment.
  • Experience leading cross-functional teams and driving projects to successful completion.
  • Proficiency in Group Problem Solving methodologies.
  • Familiarity with Teamcenter Visualization or similar product lifecycle management (PLM) tools.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills, with a strong customer-focused approach.
  • Highly results-oriented with a proven ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the design, development, and integration activities for outsourced brake control software, ensuring adherence to project timelines and quality standards.
  • Collaborate extensively with internal and external stakeholders, including suppliers, development teams, and validation engineers, to define software requirements and ensure seamless integration.
  • Manage and execute engineering release processes utilizing Engineering Release Systems, including documentation, configuration management, and issue tracking.
  • Apply Group Problem Solving techniques to identify and resolve complex technical challenges throughout the software development lifecycle.
  • Manage software validation plans for your assigned program.
  • Issue part saleable status based on successful completion of all required testing
  • Support controller warranty analysis, issue resolution, parts restriction, and report updates as required to team leadership.
  • Act as a technical lead for cross-functional teams, fostering a collaborative environment and driving accountability for project deliverables.
  • Ensure all software releases meet General Motors' stringent safety, performance, and quality standards.
