About The Position

Turner & Townsend is seeking a Senior Design Project Manager to work with our Data Center team, and partner with our client, supporting designs for new and existing construction builds. The Design Project Manager should have an architectural background in the construction industry and be experienced in Design/Architecture/Civil works. This position provides support and reports to the assigned Project Manager(s) or Project Director. The role has frequent interaction with the Owner/Client, consultants, design professionals and contractors. The Senior Design Project Manager will directly assist the Project Manager(s) in managing, coordinating and administering the project through all phases of design and construction. This role is responsible for ensuring all aspects of client services are delivered at the highest level to ensure the client’s needs are addressed. The role may also involve SOX control responsibilities.

Requirements

  • Architectural background in the construction industry.
  • Experience in Design/Architecture/Civil works.
  • 8+ years of experience in construction project coordination (or equivalent experience in lieu of degree).
  • Experience and working in Project Management on large-scale construction programs.
  • Solid working proficiency with AutoCAD, Revit, Bluebeam, and MS Office Suite.
  • Excellent presentation skills and the ability to be highly effective in a client facing role.
  • Team player; ability to work collaboratively.

  • Bachelor’s degree in construction management, Engineering, Architecture, or related field.

Responsibilities

  • Manage, coordinate and administer the project through all phases of design and construction.
  • Ensure all aspects of client services are delivered at the highest level.
  • Prepare documents including reports, schedules, invoices, RFIs, submittals, meeting minutes/agendas, daily reports, change orders, inspections, closeout, and client presentations.
  • Maintain information in project management software.
  • Schedule meetings with the project team.
  • Communicate conceptual designs and create/maintain project documentation before, during, and after construction.
  • Maintain Basis of Design, prototype design, and template specifications for architectural elements.
  • Review and inform design RFPs.
  • Manage external design consultants through the design and construction process.
  • Communicate design standards to internal and external project partners.
  • Manage multiple fast-paced projects simultaneously.
  • Find innovative solutions to reduce costs without negative impacts on quality or reliability.
  • Adhere to SOX control responsibilities where applicable.
