About The Position

ENTRUST Solutions Group is hiring a Senior Design Engineer for its Electric Programs group to develop electric distribution designs that support reliable, sustainable power infrastructure. The engineer works independently on familiar tasks and receives guidance on new or complex challenges. The role supports simple to moderately complex design work, leads design development for smaller projects, and assists with more complex projects, technical analyses, and design coordination. The Senior Design Engineer collaborates with Designers and Drafters, communicates with internal teams, clients, and vendors, and helps ensure that design packages meet client specifications, safety codes, industry standards, and company procedures. The position also supports quality control, document control, procurement standards, task assignment, mentorship of junior team members, and field visits as needed. Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in engineering from an ABET-accredited university.
At least 2–3 years of relevant work experience in electric distribution, other utilities, or relevant engineering design projects.
Knowledge of BOUD and Maximo.
Knowledge of Computer-Aided Design (CAD), distribution design software, and GIS design tools.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and working knowledge of ArcGIS.
Ability to read, understand, and follow client and ENTRUST data standards and practices.
Strong verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to explain technical concepts clearly.
Ability to prioritize tasks, plan daily activities, and adapt to new situations.
Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work collaboratively across teams.

Responsibilities

Develop and refine electric distribution designs to meet client specifications, safety codes, and industry standards.
Support preparation of simple to moderately complex designs, including calculations, drawings, and documentation.
Lead design development for smaller projects and assist with more complex efforts, technical analyses, and design coordination.
Work with Designers and Drafters to complete comprehensive design packages.
Communicate with internal teams, clients, and vendors, and raise concerns related to scope, cost, schedule, or quality as needed.
Follow company and client procedures for quality control, document control, and procurement.
Check work for accuracy and completeness before submitting it for review.
Participate in peer reviews and quality-control processes.
Assist the Design Coordinator in evaluating design personnel and assigning work to Designers and Drafters.
Guide and support junior team members.
Interact independently with clients and vendors, representing ENTRUST professionally and with technical insight.
Conduct field visits and support fielding activities as needed to ensure design accuracy and alignment with real-world conditions.
