Senior Design Engineer

As a Senior Design Engineer, you will support inspection programs, perform advanced engineering analyses, and help lead the development of industry-leading deliverables. You will work closely with the Engineering Manager to ensure accuracy, quality, and consistency across all customers-facing reports and engineering services aligned with API 510/570/579/653 practices.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in inspection, repair, or construction of ASTs
- API-653 certification
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering
- Professional Engineering (PE) license
- Strong communication skills (written & verbal)
- Proficiency with Office Suite and CAD tools
- Ability to access customer sites as needed
- Ability to pass background and drug testing
- Ability to read and interpret schematics, drawings, and procedures
- Self-starter with strong organizational and prioritization skills
- Valid work authorization in the country of employment
Responsibilities
- Providing engineering support to field inspection teams (API calculations)
- Reviewing AST inspection reports for accuracy and completeness
- Determining recommendations based on field data and inspection findings
- Applying tank standards and regulations to engineering solutions and reports
- Executing API and engineering calculations for additional engineering services
- Supporting analyses such as: API 2000 Venting Analysis, Tank Calibration / Strapping, Plumbness & Roundness, Similar Service Assessments, Risk-Based Inspection (RBI), Fitness-For-Service (FFS) evaluations
- Preparing evaluation reports for all advanced engineering services
- Assuring accuracy of all deliverables
- Providing professional and timely report delivery
- Supporting the Engineering Manager in assigned activities
- Developing automated programs to streamline repetitive calculations
- Contributing to continuous improvement of engineering workflows
