As a Senior Design Engineer, you will support inspection programs, perform advanced engineering analyses, and help lead the development of industry-leading deliverables. You will work closely with the Engineering Manager to ensure accuracy, quality, and consistency across all customers-facing reports and engineering services aligned with API 510/570/579/653 practices.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in inspection, repair, or construction of ASTs
  • API-653 certification
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering
  • Professional Engineering (PE) license
  • Strong communication skills (written & verbal)
  • Proficiency with Office Suite and CAD tools
  • Ability to access customer sites as needed
  • Ability to pass background and drug testing
  • Ability to read and interpret schematics, drawings, and procedures
  • Self-starter with strong organizational and prioritization skills
  • Valid work authorization in the country of employment

Responsibilities

  • Providing engineering support to field inspection teams (API calculations)
  • Reviewing AST inspection reports for accuracy and completeness
  • Determining recommendations based on field data and inspection findings
  • Applying tank standards and regulations to engineering solutions and reports
  • Executing API and engineering calculations for additional engineering services
  • Supporting analyses such as: API 2000 Venting Analysis, Tank Calibration / Strapping, Plumbness & Roundness, Similar Service Assessments, Risk-Based Inspection (RBI), Fitness-For-Service (FFS) evaluations
  • Preparing evaluation reports for all advanced engineering services
  • Assuring accuracy of all deliverables
  • Providing professional and timely report delivery
  • Supporting the Engineering Manager in assigned activities
  • Developing automated programs to streamline repetitive calculations
  • Contributing to continuous improvement of engineering workflows
