About The Position

We are seeking a highly motivated integration engineer to join the Interventional Spine (IVS) R&D team developing next-gen RF and microwave ablation consoles. This role will be responsible for integration of embedded software, hardware, and systems into a complete medical device console. Leads system-level debugging, interface definition, integration testing, and cross-functional technical coordination to ensure reliable operation across software, electrical, mechanical, and manufacturing domains.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer engineering, software engineering, electrical engineering, or related discipline
  • 2+ years of direct applicable experience
  • Proficiency in C/C++, embedded linux, and embedded real time systems
  • Strong object-oriented design and development experience
  • System-Level Troubleshooting – Able to determine origins of issue, apply root cause frameworks, and diagnose issues that may span across domains or at a system level.
  • Experience and fluency with command line interface (CLI) in development and troubleshooting.
  • Embedded Systems Knowledge – Strong understanding of embedded real time systems, fundamentals of microcontroller architecture, device & peripheral driver mgmt., and board bring up and configuration.
  • Interface and Communication Expertise – Ability to understand and debug serial communications and other protocols. Effective at managing interfaces between hardware and software subsystems.
  • Verification and Test Skills - A focus on planning and executing system-level testing activities. Specifically, unit/integration/system scaled testing. Leverages automation in test where efficient and drives for rigor in regression test and release mgmt. on target hardware.
  • Lab and Equipment Fluency – Working directly with microprocessors, microcontrollers, SoCs, and hardware peripherals.

Responsibilities

  • Integration of embedded software, hardware, and systems into a complete medical device console.
  • System-level debugging, interface definition, integration testing, and cross-functional technical coordination.
  • Provide dedicated support for integration and validation for any programming and data collection as part of the production line plan.
  • Work directly with AO and contract manufacturing partners to determine tools, environments, and scope of deliverables to support long term production.
  • Scale and engage across domains to provide system and integration support.
  • Build fundamental knowledge to help translate and interpret definition and resolution of issues.
  • Collaborate weekly with Electrical, Mechanical, Manufacturing, Quality, and Regulatory teams.
  • Drive direction and influence without formal authority, leveraging data-driven decision making and frameworks to create solutions.
  • Maintain broad console knowledge across multiple programs and strive to understand the entire product/ecosystem.
  • Act as an agent for connecting teams and workflows.
  • Set up and leverage electrical instrumentation including but not limited to digital multi-meters, power supplies, oscilloscopes, logic analyzers and other equipment to support characterization and test.
