About The Position

The Boeing Company's Defense, Space & Security (BDS) is seeking a Senior Design and Analysis Engineer in St. Louis, MO, to support a Phantom Works Fixed Wing Proprietary Program. This role involves developing and integrating complex communication, navigation, and core systems, defining how integrated sensors, communication, and weapons meet warfighter needs. You will join a cross-functional team in an agile development environment, working on next-generation open-architecture model-based designs and collaborating across disciplines. Daily activities include design engineering, cross-functional collaboration, and presenting technical challenges and solutions to leadership. Frequent interaction with program leadership, customers, and industry partners during critical design phases is expected. This position offers opportunities for engineering skill development and potential growth into a leadership role.

Requirements

• Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering (with a focus in Electrical, Mechanical or Aeronautical), Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry or non-US equivalent qualifications directly related to the work statement
• 9+ years of related work experience and a bachelor’s degree or an equivalent combination of related work experience and technical education
• Must satisfy the Company’s Conflict of Interest (COI) assessment process.
• Must meet U.S. export control compliance requirements. To meet U.S. export control compliance requirements, a “U.S. Person” as defined by 22 C.F.R. §120.62 is required. “U.S. Person” includes U.S. Citizen, U.S. National, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.
• Requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship. An interim and/or final U.S. Secret Clearance Post-Start is required.

Responsibilities

• Make complex software and hardware design decisions for mission processing capabilities
• Lead capability integration team (software, hardware, test) to release capabilities to the customer
• Create and scope mission features for your team to decompose from system level requirements to high level software requirements
• Analyze and translate customer requirements into system, hardware, and software designs
• Define logical and software interfaces to ensure compatibility with the platform architecture and ensure proper interoperability with other subsystems
• Utilize Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) for hardware, software, and performance model development.
• Utilizes MBSE for requirements development, interfaces definition, and traceability
• Test and validate system functionality and performance to ensure designs meet operational and functional requirements
• Present design change recommendations to upper leadership and the customer
