About The Position

The Senior Manager of Day Habilitation Services is responsible for the overall supervision of the Day Habilitation programs (site-based & without walls-WOW) located in Irvington, Orangeburg, and New City. Also responsible for the day-to-day operations of the assigned Day Habilitation program. Provides supervision to Assistant Managers and Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) of Day Habilitation services. Ensures compliance with all applicable regulations as set forth by OPWDD.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma required
  • Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities.
  • Experience using an electronic health care system to review and manage data.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and capacity to build relationships and interact appropriately with staff and external partners.
  • Ability to handle confidential matters with discretion.
  • Must be able to use a computer and able to learn software programs.
  • Required to operate a fax, copier, scan, and other office equipment.
  • Needs to be able to speak, read and write fluently in the English language.
  • Must be able to write in the English language using correct spelling, grammar, punctuation, etc.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the day-to-day operations of assigned Day Habilitation program.
  • Provides supervision to Assistant Managers and Direct Support Professionals of the Day Habilitation programs.
  • Responsible for compliance with applicable regulations as outlined by OPWDD, Medicaid and the Agency.
  • Ensures all program participants are provided with meaningful services in accordance with individualized, person-centered program plans.
  • Ensures the health, safety and well-being of individuals served is maintained at the highest possible level.
  • Ensures staff document service delivery in accordance with CMS guidelines.
  • Ensures staff are trained and informed of all pertinent information which promotes quality programming, positive relationships, and individual care.
  • Develops and monitors staff schedules.
  • Ensures adequate coverage is maintained.
  • Establishes positive working relationships and coordination with each individual’s treatment team, family and/or advocate.
  • Attends and participates in program planning and team meetings.
  • Develop and update Staff Action Plans in accordance with identified individuals’ valued outcomes, adhering to OPWDD and CMS regulations.
  • Prepare and review reports (i.e., vehicle logs, fire drills, weekly schedules, etc.).
  • Ensure fire drills are conducted on a quarterly basis.
  • Utilize Precision Care to update and complete Staff Action plans and daily attendance.
  • All other duties as deemed appropriate by agency administration.
