About The Position

Columbia Technology Partners is seeking an experienced Database Developer with strong expertise in Oracle PL/SQL, RESTful APIs, and modern web technologies such as HTML, CSS, and JavaScript. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience designing, developing, and optimizing database-driven applications, supporting data migration initiatives, and delivering secure, scalable solutions across the full technology stack. This role requires an independent, security-conscious professional capable of executing complex technical tasks, contributing to solution design, and collaborating effectively with cross-functional teams and client stakeholders. The position may include technical leadership responsibilities on moderately complex engagements.

Requirements

• The ideal candidate will have 6-8 years of experience developing database-driven applications, with strong expertise in Oracle 19c+, PL/SQL, RESTful APIs, and web technologies including HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
• Proven experience with data migration, database performance tuning, JSON handling, and Oracle REST Data Services is required.
• The role demands a security-conscious engineer experienced in full SDLC execution, change management, version control, and light Unix administration.

Nice To Haves

• Consulting experience, Agile exposure, and scripting with Python or Perl are preferred, along with strong communication and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain database solutions using Oracle PL/SQL
• Write and optimize complex SQL queries, stored procedures, functions, and triggers
• Design, develop, and integrate RESTful APIs, including Oracle REST Data Services (ORDS)
• Develop and maintain front-end and web application components using HTML, CSS, and JavaScript
• Design, develop, and maintain websites and web-based applications
• Plan and execute data migration activities, including data mapping, transformation, and validation
• Optimize database performance and troubleshoot application and data issues
• Ensure data integrity, security, and compliance with industry and organizational best practices
• Document technical designs, workflows, and operational processes
• Follow formal change management processes to deploy solutions into production environments
• Perform light Unix administration tasks, including access management, permissions, log analysis, system monitoring, patching, and shell scripting for automation
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams and consult with customer stakeholders to deliver high-quality solutions
• Provide technical guidance and, when applicable, lead solution design and implementation efforts
