About The Position
MANTECH seeks a motivated, career and customer-oriented Senior Database Administrator to join their team supporting the NSWC Corona Range Systems Department. This role involves managing Information Technology efforts for the Navy Enterprise Tactical Training Network (NETTN) and will be based at a government facility in Dam Neck, VA. The position is for a future opportunity and requires a Secret Clearance.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree (4 years of experience can be substituted for a degree)
- Nine (9) Years of information technology experience
- Two (2) Years of managerial experience with DoD efforts
- Must have a current/active Secret Clearance.
Nice To Haves
- Master of Science Degree in Information Technology or related field.
- Familiarity with the United States Navy preferred.
- Experience with NSWC Corona RS Division and NCTE
Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain complex database structures, schemas, and models (e.g., SQL Server, MySQL, PostgreSQL, Snowflake).
- Proactively monitor, tune, and index databases for optimal speed and reliability, including query optimization.
- Build and manage database infrastructure using Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) and develop automation tools to minimize manual work and downtime.
- Lead root cause analysis (RCA) for incidents, manage database upgrades, and implement security measures, including database encryption and access control.
- Work with developers, DevOps, and data scientists to design efficient, scalable, and secure data solutions.
