Requirements

  • Direct DB2 administration is required. General SQL Server, Oracle, PostgreSQL, or MySQL experience alone does not demonstrate the required capability.
  • Demonstrate work involving WebSphere integration or comparable direct troubleshooting of the DB2-to-WebSphere stack. WebSphere familiarity without DB2 administration is not.
  • The candidate must be able to obtain the favorable trustworthiness determination based on an SSBI when required for the assigned access.

Responsibilities

  • Administer production and nonproduction DB2 environments.
  • Design and maintain database schemas.
  • Conduct database performance analysis and capacity planning.
  • Tune database performance and optimize queries.
  • Diagnose database degradation, failures, locking, connectivity, and cross-stack issues.
  • Protect data integrity and reconcile identified exceptions.
  • Engineer and validate backup, restoration, and recovery activities.
  • Support resilience and COOP planning.
  • Maintain controlled database configurations in development and test environments.
  • Manage test data consistent with security and sensitivity requirements.
  • Coordinate DB2 integration with WebSphere middleware and the supporting Windows/Linux and virtual infrastructure.
  • Support patching, updates, corrective maintenance, and system modifications.
  • Validate database performance and data integrity after changes.
  • Maintain database configuration, recovery, test, and operating documentation.
  • Provide advanced technical escalation for database-related incidents.
