About The Position

The Senior Data Visualization Analyst will seamlessly mesh tech know-how with business acumen to help navigate Contexture’s data and visualization needs, including application design, development, enhancements, maintenance, support, and planning. This position will require experience in visualization solutioning for large healthcare datasets, with a firm grasp of HIE platforms, applications, and product offerings. You will help connect the dots and evolve visualization strategy by keeping an eye on developments that can support our cloud expansion and help in implementing the same. The ideal candidate will enjoy working as a member of a team and effectively work with a variety of technical teams and customers. Serving as the Senior Data Visualization Analyst means you bring experience in analytics and visual storytelling in the various business areas the HIE supports. This position is based in Phoenix Arizona; Denver Colorado; or Grand Junction, Colorado and requires local residency in one of these base locations. Our strategic flexibility allows for local work from home opportunities.

Requirements

  • Advanced knowledge of analytics and statistical software such as SQL, R, Python, Excel, and others to perform analysis and interpret data.
  • Experience in analytics, advanced analytics/statistics, predictive modeling.
  • Hands-on experience with healthcare data code sets and terminologies.
  • Experience driving at least one major BI application implementation for an organization larger than 500 users (Healthcare experience is a plus).
  • Demonstrated ability to handle multiple priorities and work collaboratively across functions and teams.
  • Strong understanding of Agile and Waterfall disciplines.
  • Demonstrated experience working with relational and/or hierarchical, big data databases such as Mongo and SQL.
  • Experience working with HL7, LOINC, SNOMED, ICD, RxNorm, or similar healthcare data transmission and normalization modalities.
  • Knowledge of medical claims data formats like CCLS, 835, 834, etc.
  • Proficient in solutions design and requirements definition disciplines leveraging model driven design-based tools and techniques including conceptual solution component models, business process models, use cases, etc.
  • Outstanding verbal and written communication skills to technical and non-technical audiences of various levels in the organization, e.g., executive, management, individual contributors.
  • Excellent analytical, decision-making, problem-solving, team and time management skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to persuade and influence others on the best approach to take using solid data principles and tools.
  • Ability to estimate work effort for project sub-plans or small projects and ensure the project is successfully completed.
  • Positive outlook, strong work ethic and responsive to internal and external customers and contacts.
  • Proficient with technology needed for remote and office work, including email, video calls, and Microsoft Office products.
  • Minimum of 3 – 5+ years of statistics or analytics experience required.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in a quantitative field such as Economics, Computer Science, Engineering, or Applied Mathematics required.

Responsibilities

  • Use modern visualization tools such as Tableau and PowerBI to enhance business understanding through artistic, simple, and concise data story telling.
  • Develop healthcare data analysis visualizations and support data linkages to those visualizations.
  • Compiles various sources of information from large data sets from various healthcare related systems or applications.
  • Presents data and analysis in a clear and concrete manner allowing the audience to quickly understand the results so they can make data driven decisions.
  • Collaborates with various partners to provide a holistic view of the analysis, including standard reporting packages, queries, and ad-hoc reporting to various stakeholders in an appropriate form and frequency.
  • Independently perform analysis for a variety of projects related to stakeholders and recommend insightful solutions to partners and senior leadership.
  • Collaborates with department leads and other partnering departments to understand and/or document business requirements and/or implement required reporting.
  • Acts as a lead visualization subject matter expert to provide project, program, and initiative-related direction and guidance for other analysts within the department and/or collaboratively with other departments.
  • Helps to lead the continual development, maintenance, and process improvement efforts for data normalization and mapping within the HIE (such as the Identity and terminology workgroups).
  • Use independent judgment and technical expertise to identify, document, and report issues with design, reliability, and maintenance with demonstrated excellence in working to lead others.
  • Help promote a culture of continual service improvement, including making recommendations on ways of continuing to utilize the HIE and the power of its data most efficiently.
  • Provide proactive technical support, monitoring and clearly communicate procedural and status updates in complex and often critical customer environment.
  • Drive and document analytics standards and best practices.
  • Develop and present complex, customized presentations of findings to senior leadership, as requested.
  • Exhibits mentoring and train the trainer skills within the data visualization team.
  • Performs all other duties as assigned.
