About The Position

The Sr Data Steward is responsible for performing accurate data entry, researching data requests, resolving escalated issues, interfacing with internal and external clients, and managing the governance of the master data system. This role plays a key part in ensuring the integrity, quality, and continuous improvement of the organization’s data assets.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED or equivalent experience
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and prioritize with minimal supervision to meet deadlines
  • Intermediate knowledge of PC software applications and a strong understanding of PC operating systems
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Research and analytical skills

Nice To Haves

  • Associate’s Degree or equivalent experience
  • 3–5 years of experience in the grocery industry

Responsibilities

  • Input, update, and maintain data in databases and management systems. Ensure data is accurate, organized, and easily retrievable.
  • Entering, auditing, and maintaining material, customer, and other related data in the MDG system.
  • Manage helpdesk requests and utilize data governance tools and standards to maintain high master data quality.
  • Create and maintain customer master data within the SAP MDG workflow in collaboration with functional areas and approvers.
  • Identify and rectify outdated, incorrect, or duplicate data entries and implement processes for maintaining data quality over time.
  • Assist in optimizing database systems, performing regular backups, ensuring security protocols, and maintaining database performance.
  • Generate reports on data quality metrics, trends, and issues.
  • Analyze data to support decision-making processes and monitor quality for opportunities for improvement.
  • Validate data integrity for new client/customer requests.
  • Work with other departments to understand data needs and provide support for inquiries.
  • Collaborate with IT teams to address technical data management issues.
  • Provide technical support for master data objects, workflows, and practices.
  • Ensure compliance with data governance policies, SLA, KPI metrics, and MDG standards.
  • Manage and document changes to master data, ensuring updates are communicated to stakeholders and proper approvals are obtained.
  • Provide training to staff on data entry procedures and best practices.
  • Assist users in navigating data systems.
  • Identify opportunities for improving MDM processes and practices based on business needs, industry standards, and technological advancements.
