About The Position

ServiceTitan is seeking a Senior Data Scientist to optimize the customer onboarding process using machine learning and generative AI. The role involves identifying inefficiencies, developing innovative solutions, and enhancing the speed and quality of customer transitions. The ideal candidate is a proactive problem-solver passionate about data science advancements and deploying impactful solutions.

Requirements

  • 5+ years in a data science role with a proven track record of delivering impactful, production-grade solutions.
  • Proficiency in SQL and Python.
  • Deep expertise in the data science ecosystem (e.g., PyTorch, Transformers, scikit-learn, and XGBoost/LightGBM).
  • Demonstrated experience with Generative AI concepts, including practical application in developing and testing GenAI solutions.
  • Experience building Agentic Workflows and implementing RAG architectures.
  • Familiarity with MLOps best practices and deploying models into production.
  • Expertise in LLM evaluation frameworks (e.g., RAGAS, DeepEval) and implementing guardrails for reliable customer-facing outputs.
  • Strong foundation in statistics, including hypothesis testing, experimental design, and causal inference to ensure the reliability of analytical insights.
  • Hands-on experience with cloud platforms, with a strong preference for Microsoft Azure (e.g., Azure AI Studio, Foundry).
  • Excellent communication skills to translate complex technical concepts into actionable insights.
  • Proactive and collaborative mindset.

Nice To Haves

  • Any experience building and deploying MCPs is a bonus, but not required.
  • Familiarity with coding in C# and .NET to better integrate with ServiceTitan’s core engineering environment.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the design, development, and deployment of advanced machine learning and generative AI models aimed at improving the efficiency and effectiveness of customer onboarding.
  • Apply a strong understanding of machine learning fundamentals, various frameworks, and model selection to solve complex business problems.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest advancements in data science and AI, actively exploring and integrating cutting-edge techniques into our solutions.
  • Utilize robust statistical knowledge to inform model development, interpret results, and ensure the reliability of analytical insights.
  • Demonstrate exceptional and creative problem-solving skills to tackle unique challenges within the ServiceTitan customer journey.
  • Design, implement, and rigorously test Generative AI and ML solutions, evaluating their performance and impact.
  • Strategically determine the most appropriate modeling approach (traditional ML vs. Generative AI) for specific problems, and effectively design tests to evaluate multiple approaches.
  • Collaborate closely with engineering and product teams to seamlessly deploy models into production environments, ensuring scalability and performance.
  • Leverage cloud computing services, preferably Azure, to build and maintain robust data science infrastructure and pipelines.
