About The Position

As a Senior Data Scientist, you will contribute on various initiatives while also supporting his team through coaching on clever use of data and advanced analytics. You will be responsible for providing significant business value through the creation; maintenance; implementation of analytical models. You will also effectively communicate findings and recommendations to a business audience. The main focus of this team will be working on Client Lifetime Value and Client Analytics.

Requirements

  • 6-9 years of experience in Data Science or another related field.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Actuarial, Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, or any other relevant field.
  • Strong knowledge and understanding of: Data analysis, Programing/tools, Modelling techniques, Data warehouse/data management, Research, Architecture/design.
  • Experience solving complex problems by taking a new perspective on existing solutions; exercises judgment based on the analysis of multiple sources of information and can provide clear recommendations for improvement.
  • Experience with Python & R.
  • Proficiency in both English and French is essential to the main duties in this role, including servicing and communicating primarily with majority anglophone and francophone clients, groups, and teams. The essential non-French duties are not assignable to adjacent or other team members.

Nice To Haves

  • Master’s degree and ACAS or FCAS designations.
  • Experience with DataBricks & Spark.

  • Champion and able to coach other in at least one programming language.
  • Define the required models/technique to solve business problems and support others through the execution.
  • Deliver and design production ready models and analytic solutions autonomously.
  • Coach peers on the use of a scientific methodology in all projects, tasks, and interactions.
  • Design data science projects by breaking complex problems or high-level business objectives into smaller problems that can be addressed using data science.
  • Make recommendations, and influence your audience, including management.
