About The Position

The Senior Data Scientist will be responsible for building descriptive, predictive and prescriptive data models using: AWS, Azure, Databricks. Requirements

  • A master’s degree (or foreign equivalent) in Statistics, Data Science, Operations Research, or related field and 3 years of experience as a Data Scientist or related, building data science and optimization models using BI tools and querying data from relational databases using SQL. In the alternative, Hertz will accept a bachelor’s degree (or foreign equivalent) and 5 years of experience.
  • Building data science and optimization models with business big data using: AWS, Databricks, or similar cloud platform.
  • Using a scripting language to analyze large datasets and extract actionable insights.
  • Developing visualization of data using Tableau, Power BI or a similar Business Intelligence tool.
  • Solving analytic problems using: Python, R, SQL.

Responsibilities

  • Curate data from various sources, including internal databases and external Application Program Interfaces (APIs), and aggregate data to a format appropriate for building descriptive reports, optimization or predictive modeling.
  • Solve complex analytical problems using quantitative approaches applying technical, mathematical, analytical and data skills.
  • Apply statistical and predictive modeling concepts, machine learning approaches, simulation, optimization models and algorithms, clustering and classification and recommendation techniques.
  • Integrate, store, and analyze large, complex multi-dimensional data sets with variety of tools, including: Python, R, SQL. Communicate analytic solutions to stakeholders and implement improvements as needed to the reports and outputs, algorithms and models.
  • Establish processes for largescale data analyses, model development, model validation and model implementation.
  • Keep current with technical and industry developments and assess the effectiveness and accuracy of new data sources and data gathering techniques.
