About The Position

Valtech is seeking a Senior Data Scientist to join a collaborative team focused on building and scaling innovative machine learning and AI-powered products. This role operates at the intersection of Data Science, Machine Learning, and Engineering, aiming to drive experimentation, optimize customer experiences, and develop next-generation AI solutions. The ideal candidate possesses a strong quantitative foundation, deep expertise in machine learning, experimentation, and modern AI tooling, and is comfortable working in emerging product areas with minimal direction to define both technical approaches and long-term business value.

Requirements

Bachelor's, Master's, or PhD in Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Physics, Engineering, or another quantitative discipline.
5+ years of experience in Data Science, Machine Learning, or a related field.
Deep expertise in machine learning, including model development, evaluation, and deployment.
Strong programming skills in Python and experience building production-grade data science solutions.
Experience designing and analyzing experiments, including A/B testing methodologies.
Strong statistical modeling and hypothesis-testing skills.
Experience partnering with software engineers to deploy and scale machine learning systems.
Ability to independently drive projects from problem definition through implementation.
Excellent communication skills and ability to translate complex findings into business recommendations.

Nice To Haves

Experience with Generative AI applications and large language model ecosystems.
Experience with AI orchestration frameworks such as LangChain, LangGraph, or similar open-source technologies.
Experience working with image generation, computer vision, or multimodal AI systems.
Experience building AI-powered customer-facing products.
SQL proficiency for data exploration and analysis.
Experience working in fast-paced environments where experimentation and iteration are critical to success.
Familiarity with recommendation systems, personalization, or customer lifecycle optimization.

Responsibilities

Lead the design, development, and deployment of machine learning solutions that drive business impact.
Partner closely with Product, Engineering, and Data teams to identify opportunities and recommend data-driven solutions.
Design and analyze experiments, including A/B tests, to evaluate product enhancements and business initiatives.
Develop quantitative frameworks to assess new customer experiences and emerging product opportunities.
Build predictive and optimization models that improve customer outcomes and business performance.
Contribute to initiatives involving customer personalization, recommendation systems, and behavioral modeling.
Drive innovation in computer vision, generative AI, and image-generation technologies.
Improve and expand AI-powered visual experiences, identifying new use cases across the business.
Evaluate, implement, and optimize state-of-the-art machine learning techniques and open-source AI frameworks.
Collaborate with engineering teams to productionize models and create scalable AI systems.
Operate independently on ambiguous problems while helping define technical strategy and best practices.
