•$156,000 - $204,225•Onsite

About The Position

The AI Innovation & Incubation (AIII) team in Silicon Valley applies AI and foundation models to real-world challenges across the cellular network. The team takes ideas from early exploration through proof of concept (PoC) and minimum viable product (MVP) to production-ready solutions used globally by Ericsson’s Business Areas and Market Areas. The Senior Data Scientist will collaborate with the team to explore AI-RAN and RAN-for-AI opportunities, build and train advanced models, and help move work from experimentation to real-world impact in telecom networks. The role is based in Ericsson’s Santa Clara, California office and suits someone comfortable with ambiguity in a fast-moving field. The role involves designing and evaluating deep neural networks, including vision-language and other foundation models; prototyping AI agents and solution pipelines; reproducing research-paper methods through experiments; and running scalable training and evaluation workflows in cloud or on-premises GPU environments. The person will work with researchers, engineers, and domain experts to develop PoCs into production-ready solutions, while staying current with AI methods and tools. Ericsson does not sponsor U.S. work authorization for this position, including specified immigration filings, and does not hire F-1 candidates working on CPT or EAD for this role. Relocation support is unavailable. The listed salary range is $156,000–$204,225 USD. The role is eligible for an annual short-term variable compensation bonus. Benefits include medical and dental plan options, 401(k) contributions and matching, basic life and accidental death and dismemberment coverage, short- and long-term disability coverage, a stock purchase plan, paid vacation and personal, holiday, volunteer, and sick time, paid maternity and parental/adoption leave, financial wellness programs, educational assistance, matching gifts, and recognition programs.
