About The Position

GDIT is seeking an experienced Senior Data Scientist to join their dynamic team. This position will support the United States Postal Service (USPS). The role involves contributing to specific programs and projects, developing data-driven solutions to complex business challenges, and utilizing advanced tools and computational skills to interpret, connect, predict, and make discoveries in data. The Senior Data Scientist will evaluate the effectiveness and accuracy of new data sources and gathering techniques, and use predictive modeling to optimize customer experience, efficiencies, process improvements, and other business outcomes. They will work with stakeholders to identify opportunities for leveraging company data and may develop processes and machine learning-based tools to monitor and analyze model performance and data accuracy. Additional duties may be assigned, and the role may involve coaching less experienced professionals or serving as a team or task lead.

Requirements

  • 5 + years of relevant experience reviewing and interpreting application data
  • 2 + years of experience utilizing AI
  • Experience develop processes and machine learning-based tools to monitor and analyze model performance and data accuracy
  • Experience developing data-driven solutions to complex business challenges
  • Ability to use predictive modeling to increase and optimize customer experience, efficiencies, process improvements, and other business outcomes
  • Ability to utilize advanced tools and computational skills to interpret, connect, predict, and make discoveries in data
  • Evaluate programs, disseminating findings, consulting and collaborating with others, and adhering to ethical standards
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance and successfully pass a thorough Government background screening process requiring the completion of detailed forms and fingerprinting.
  • Resided in the U.S. (including U.S. Territories) for the last five years.
  • U.S. Citizens cannot have left the U.S. (including U.S. Territories) for longer than 6 months consecutively in the last 3 years (unless they meet certain exceptions).
  • Non-U.S. Citizens cannot have left the U.S. (including U.S. Territories) for longer than 90 days consecutively in the last 3 years.
