Senior Data Scientist, (Global Security)
About The Position
We have an exciting opportunity in Global Security! As a Senior Data Scientist on our Security Insights and AI team, you will contribute to building RBC's next-generation intelligent defense systems. You will design and deploy advanced machine learning solutions that anticipate and detect digital and cyber threats. Leveraging cutting-edge AI techniques, statistical modeling, and large-scale data analytics, you'll work to deliver enterprise-grade threat detection systems that automate complex security operations, accelerate our defensive readiness, and set new standards for digital protection and organizational resilience.
Requirements
- A passion for learning and solving problems
- At least an undergraduate degree (Ph.D. or Masters preferred) in a quantitative field (Engineering, Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Economics, Sociology, Psychology etc.)
- 2 years of experience with advanced programming skills (python, pyspark) and experience in developing machine learning models using supervised and unsupervised approaches; experience with data preprocessing, feature and representation learning, anomaly/outlier detection
- Strong data sense, critical thinking, and technical documentation skills
- Strong communication skills with ability to work cross-functionally to articulate, measure and solve issues
Nice To Haves
- Experience with generative AI, deep learning frameworks (e.g., PyTorch), vector databases, and/or graph analytics.
- Knowledge of the lifecycle of data science products from design to delivery.
- Familiarity with concepts in cyber security
Responsibilities
- Support the development and deployment of statistical / AI / ML solutions, working in a team of data scientists and data engineers.
- Collect, transform, and analyze large datasets (structured and unstructured) to extract insights, support model development, and enable predictive analytics.
- Validate, measure, and document model performance in accordance with business and stakeholder requirements.
- Collaborate with business partners to produce insights from business-defined requirements and hypotheses.
- Leverage visualization tools/packages to story-tell and to convey data-driven insights with actionable recommendations to business partners and key stakeholders.
